Question:
Looking for a Long Island Angel
I'm having my surgery on May 31st, 2005 at South Nassau communities hospital in Oceanside and looking for support. I'm not your typical candidate my BMI is only 37 but life has gotten very difficult since having back fusion surgery with the extra weight. My asthma has gotten worse and I have developed acid reflux that I now take prevacid for. My insurance did not agree to pay for my surgery and I had to dip into my savings to pay for it but I know how priceless quality of life is. Any words of advice and support are welcomed — D R. Just wanted to wish you Good Luck on your surgery.. I'm having mine on May
26th same Doctor and same hospital.. I too do not have an angel, but
everyone I've met at the support group and office have been just

Hi, My BMI was 39 and because of the co-morbidities that go along with
being that obese, my insurance company did pay for my surgery. I had open
RNY last Wednesday. I got out of the hospital Saturday afternoon. This
first week has been tough, and painful but each day I am healing and
feeling better. The one bright spot is that I have lost 18 lbs in 9 days.
The 32 staples down my stomach are a little infected and are more painful
due to that. I am having trouble getting as much protein as I should so I
ordered some Nectar Protein Drink Mix that I read about on here. Good

I will be your angel!! I am out 11 months tomorow and down 103 lbs.... I
had alot of complications, but thank God I am healthy and happy now!
