Question:
Looking for a Support group

Does anyone know of a Support group in the Philadelphia or Tri-State area? I want to start attending them before my surgery. Thanks D    — DANA H. (posted on June 27, 2002)

What hospital are you having your surgery at? There is an excellent support group that meets at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on the 2nd Saturday of the month. The group may be open to people getting surgery at places other than HUP for a nominal charge - you'll have to check. For more information, contact the Bariatric Clinical Specialist at HUP, Rachel Griehs, at 215-662-2085. I know that she is attending the ASBS conference in Las Vegas this week and is on vacation next week, but she is checking her voice mails (at least this week). There is also a Yahoogroups mailing list for UPENN WLS people (both post-op and pre-op). Dana, Just looked at your profile and saw that you are a patient of Dr. Williams at HUP.
