Question:
Need comments on Lap RNY's Surgeon's in MICHIGAN please

I'm a young mom of 5 who has some serious stretch marks AND whose skin does NOT heal very well. Therefore my pcp told me to consider a lap instead of an open rny. I need some surgeon input please and thank you in advance:)    — E M. (posted on September 17, 2002)

Possible the best lap surgeon for the rny procedure is Dr. Mark Kligman in Toledo Ohio ( Only A Few miles from the Michigan border). I drove 3 hours each way and have absolutely no regrets. He may not be the closest but I believe he is the best. Good luck Michael A. Zullo

I am getting lap RNY done at Mt Clemens General Hospital, with Dr Hanks. I know that a Dr Krause at Beaumont-Royal Oak Hospital also does the lap RNY.

Dr. Scholten in Grand Rapids does the RNY laproscopically. I had my consultation with him last week and he and his staff are very thorough, knowledgable, and personable. The only problem is that there is a high demand for him and a long wait. Good Luck!
