Has any one waited for an approval thru thier state medicaid for more than 6 mos
Has any one waited for an approval thru thier state medicaid program for more than 6 months? My request for approval went in on 8/08/02 and I am still waiting...others have gotten thiers and being at a lower weight and less comorbidities then I and have gotten thier approval's within a 1-2 week period!Please anyone email me and let me know how long you have waited! Vicki, I see no one has answered your question. I had to look for my
question since so many have been posted yesterday! You may want to post
again. I have Medicare and Medicaid since I have been on disability for 3
1/2 years. I was approved in North Carolina in one week. Follow up on
whoever was supposed to file for you! Good Luck.

Hi there, Vicki! I have medicaid and I was approved in a matter of days.
You should call the surgeon's office to make sure they sent in everything,
then call the Medical Director's office for medicaid and speak with someone
there, they should have a nurse who looks over things and they may be able
to tell you something. I know there are a lot of people who let the
doctor's office handle everything for them, but seeing that I am not a very
patient person and the fact that my surgeon let me make all my own
appointments, I kinda took charge of making sure that forms were sent out
and looked at. That does seem like a long time to have to wait. My BMI
was 61, so I don't think that having a lower weight has anything to do with
is, well at least here in WI. So get on the phone to the doctor. Hope it

I have Ohio medicaid, I am also on SSI. My approval took about two
months...I thought that was fast. It was faster than other things I have
needed to get approved. When I'm a contributing member of society again,
I'm going to make sure I pay all my taxes and not complain!
