Question:
Looking for input on Dr. Rout of Shands Hospital

I have been referred to Dr. Rout and actually met him. I am interested in hearing from other patients who may have had surgery performed by Dr. Rout    — Beverly R. (posted on March 5, 2004)

Hi...he wasn't my surgeon, but was one of the 3 I was referred to. I've heard that he's a good surgeon, but his patient/bedside manner leaves ALOT to desire. He can be very harsh, but like I said, I've only heard this, I never met with him personally. I ended up with Dr. Muhammad Jawad in Ocala and he is absolutely wonderful...good luck. Denise 316/156

Hi There! Shands still only does open surgery. I chose Dr. Jawad in Ocala. He is EXCELLENT and performs lap surgery. Check him out! Barbie

I ALSO HAD DR. JAWAD IN OCALA, FLORIDA. HE IS WONDERFUL. I WAS 456 POUNDS AND I HAVE LOST 250 POUNDS IN 14 MONTHS. I HAD IT DONE LAP. I HAVE HAD NO COMPLICATIONS AT ALL EVEN AT MY SIZE. GOOD LUCK!!
