Question:
Is it possible for someone who has had the RNY and transected to be revised to a DS?

Is it possible to be revised to a DS after already having the RNY (transected). My stoma is wide open and I have not lost any weight for a long time - I am actually starting to gain now. I can eat a lot at one time and only dump on some milk products (ice cream , cereal with milk). My surgeon just told me to diet and exercise. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.    — Kelly B. Kelly, Yes, it's possible. However, it's VERY important that you have a surgeon who is an expert at doing it. It is very complicated and carries a higher surgical risk - as do any revision or conversion surgeries. Surgeons that I know to have excellent stats and results with this type of surgery: Dr. Robert Rabkin Dr. Michael Gagner Dr. Aniceto Baltasar Dr. John Husted Dr. Ara Keshishian If you go to http://www.duodenalswitch.com/Surgeons/surgeons.html you can find the contact information for all of these surgeons. Dr. Baltasar also has a web site - www.bodybybaltasar.com Of course, I think all of these guys also have Yahoo groups. There are several other Yahoo groups that you may be interested in: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DS_Revision/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Revision/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/duodenalswitch/ Hope that helps some. Blessings, dina

I've also heard of people getting the band placed at their stoma site to correct this problem.
