Question:
Abdominal Pain
I have been told that people who have had WLS have pain in the stomach fairly often. Is this true? — K T. (posted on April 16, 2001)

Hi. I am 3 1/2 months post op (Lap RNY 12-27-00)I am down 73 pounds and the
only time I have pain at all is when I foolishly eat something I know I
shouldn't like fried foods or something that just doesn't agree with me.
Even then it is not what I would call pain just an uncomfortable feeling.
What does and does not agree with you will depend on you. Everyone of us is
different and we just have to do the trial and error thing to find out. DO
NOT let the horror stories or someone else's experience scare you out of
having this done. You will not ever regret having this surgery. It will
give you your life back. I used to love fresh hot bread but now I don't
even try to eat it because I know that it will not agree with me but you
know what? I would trade fresh hot bread smothered in butter any day for
the loss of 73 pounds and counting!!!!! Lots of love and good luck in what
ever you decide!---Tonia
