Today is January 4 and I am 5 weeks post-surgery. Dr. Wu did a fabulous job with my surgery. He is like the most wonderful doctor I have ever had. His bedside manner, his knowledge and expertise with gastric bypass have been wonderful. After my surgery, my husband was down in the cafeteria and he went and found him to give him the update. Today, after my EGD, he actually called him internationally to let him know how I was doing and what was found. He has been totally thorough with his presentation of information, providing the risks and processes for the procedures performed and answered any and all questions I or my husband had. I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Wu and I thank him for the wonderful care.
What can I say about Dr. Wu! EVERYTHING! He is a terrific doctor. Very patient, understanding and helps you, as the patient, become educated about WLS and helps you make the best decision possible. I have had wonderful visits with Dr. Wu and I feel comfortable with the decision that has been made. I am so happy to have chosen him and I thank Kelly for the referral.
my first time speaking with him was very pleasent he was nice and easy to talk to. iHe answer ed all my question and was very patient with me.
Dr. Engstrand has been my doctor through out this for the last year and a half. He had a hard time remembering who I was each time I saw him but then again I didnt see him on a constant basis. Now the my surgery is done and over with I think I appreciate him more.
Dr. Engstrand is very direct, quick and to the point. Not the friendliest bedside manner, but his excellent surgical competence made up for it. One thing that bothered me about him was that while both me and my husband was in the room talking to him, he would only look at my husband instead of me. He has got better at that, though. The wonderful thing about Dr. Engstrand is that he never once questioned my decision about having the Duodenal Switch. I was warned that he might be a "Bait and Don't Switch" surgeon who would talk me into a different procedure, but he never did. I was in surgery for 7+ hours as he removed a surprise hernia, my appendix, gallbladder and did the full DS. His aftercare program is very thorough and most of his staff are very friendly. I was nervous about picking a surgeon who was not on the list of vetted DS surgeons from the dsfacts.com website, but I am glad I took a chance on him. I feel very lucky to have had my DS so close to home with such an excellent surgeon.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS WHEN HE WAS AT THE SEMINAR HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND AFTER HEARING HIS PRESENATATION OUT OF ALL THE DOCTORS i JUST KNEW i WANTED HIM TO PERFORM MY SURGERY. i WENT TO MY CONSULT AND THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE AND AFER MEETING BOBBY WU I KNEW I COULD TRUST THEM 100% THEY ARE SO GREAT
I attended a informational seminar in August of 2009, and that is where I met Dr. Wu. He was so down to earth and very straight forward. He was not afraid to say it out right and he was very well reserved. The staff with Dr. Wu was wonderful as well. They all were compasionate and caring and treated me like I was an individual and not like a number.
I had RNY on 12/23/09 with Dr. Wu and everything went great. In my case, it was "textbook" perfect. I had little pain and was back to normal and doing normal activities in less than a week. Dr. Wu is a phenomonal surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone!!
Dr. Burhop is wonderful and his office staff rocks!
I am a patient of Dr. Burhop. I have loved his staff and they have walked me through the entire process while being very helpful with everything. They have made sure that this process was as smooth and comfortable for me as possible. I have only met Dr. Burhop once for a consultation so hopefully I'll be able to provide more feedback about him after my presurgery consult.
Dr Chiang is a very skilled surgeon who has a very good reputation in the area. Bariatric surgery is only part of his practice. He is a very caring person, who listens to your questions and concerns. The Bariatric Institute of WI, is a group of 4 Doctors which he is a part of. They have a seperate office set up for this part of their practice. They each have a seperate day of the week which they see their patients. Doctor Chiangs day is Thursdays. I would recommed him to anyone!
Dr. Engstrand is wonderful! He is very kind and thoughtful. He explained everything very clearly and made sure that I understood. Dr. Engstrand has been very patient with all my questions. His staff is awesome. They are all very caring and personable! The support structure at the BIW is great! I would rate Dr. Engstrand a 10+ and recomend him to anyone!
