My first impression of Dr. Gorospe was that he was very kind and seemed to really understand the problems of the obese patient. I have a few co-workers who are also patients of Dr. Gorospe and they only had nice things to say about him. After meeting him, I found those things to be true. His office staff is also very friendly and helpful. Update: After having had my surgery with Dr. Gorospe, I feel he is a very gifted surgeon. I thank God everyday for this tool and the surgeon who allowed me this opportunity at a new life.

Dr. Gorospe is such an expert in this field that it would be hard not to be impressed. He is also very personable .He sat and talked with me at length during our consult .You can tell that he really cares about making people's lives better. I am so happy to have been given the opportunity to have him as my doctor. I wouldn't want anyone else.

I first met Dr.Gorospe on my December 6 appointment. I thought he was extremely considerate and informative about the surgery. I noticed how patient and attentive he was to all of us. Dr. Gorospe informed me of the series of tests I needed before the surgery. I am very happy with him. There hasn't been one minute I've doubted that I made the right decision in choosing him as my doctor. The staff in the office was wonderful (very patient) answering all of my questions. I also like the fact that Dr. Gorospe has an assistant (Michelle) available to me all of the time. She had the bypass surgery a few years ago. I am comfortable with the fact that when I have had questions she has been there. This is my personal experience and it may not be the same for others.

Assisted by Dr. JoeBob Kirk, who is an absolute blast!rnrnDr. Gorospe impressed me at first as being a kind and caring man. I attended one of his informational meetings and he just seemed so nice. He answered every question by the 100-plus people there. Hearing his statistics about numbers of surgeries, including the number of deaths by his patients post-surgery, put me at ease. His office staff are very busy and very professional. Not a lot of chitchat went on, which is fine with me. I was assigned a caseworker (Nycole) who was excellent and she really helped me over the course of seven months to get the surgery approved. The caseworker was sometimes hard to get on the phone, so I emailed her quite frequently. I was visited in the hospital by several of the staff and that was nice. My daughter had bariatric surgery five years ago, so I was quite familiar with the procedure, however, Dr. Gorospe and staff went over every aspect of the surgery and possible risks involved. I was given detailed photos of the procedure and everything was explained to me. A detailed list of do's and don'ts for both pre and post-op was given and the expectation was to follow it to the letter, which I did. This included foods to eat, liquids to drink, suggestions for vitamin and protein supplements. I believe surgical competence is most important. I don't care if the guy is a jerk (which he wasn't) or not, just be the best darn surgeon I can find! I would recommend Dr.'s Gorospe and Kirk to anyone and love them both for helping me with my weight loss.

Gorospe and Kirk are great. Everything about the surgery was also great. The staff was very helpful in answering my questions that I forgot to ask either DR. The first orientation was very good and answered a lot of questions. The support group meetings are very informative and fun to attend. I have had no problems since my surgery on 7/18/06. I have lost 73 lbs. as of today and feel a 100% better. As always you need all the information you can get before your surgery so read all you can get your hands on. I have only one regret that is that I should have done it last year.

Dr. Gorospe is very pleasant and informative. He seems to care about his patients. We were referred to him by family members and friends that have used him in the past and no one has ever had anything bad to say about him. So far we really like him. His office staff has been awesome. Very knowledgable and willing to help you.

I went to Dr. Gorospe's seminar and felt very much at ease with him and the staff. I could tell that they all cared and Dr. Gorospe knows what he is doing.

Dr. Gorospe is one of the most kind and gentle doctors I have ever met. His associate, Dr. Kirk, is also wonderful. I have never felt more at ease with any doctors as with these gentlemen. Both of them have hearts for people and want to make the lives of obese people better.

I thought he and his staff were some of te most compassionate, caring people I have ever met and my opinion has never changed. They demand a lot of their patients but they give back so much more. He is very experienced and I would recommend the program to anyone. I do wish that it was a little less expensive but it was worth it. I had a $5,000 out of pocket max and that was a lot!
