Dr Huerta was & is great in his approach to his patients. He spends all of the time you need in answering questions. He made me feel very confident in my decision. His bedside manner is great. I never felt like just another patient . I felt like I really mattered. The staff in his office are always pleasant & treat me with great respect. I feel like they are my cheerleaders.

my first impressin of dr. huerta was and still is a very personable man. he made my husbadn mother and i very comfortable and answered every question we had without making us feel uneducated. sometimes even answering the same question more than once. my feelings torward dr. huerta have only increased since surgery. he is a very caring man, along with his staff. after care is always discussed and he is very clear about his after care plan. you have plenty of resources to keep you on track. over all i would rate him a 20 on a scale of 1-10.rnmy experince with this surgeon could not have been or be better.

My first impression of Dr. Huerta was. \"I will have to listen closely to him so I understand him because of his accent.\" It didn't take long to understand him completely and he made me feel comfortable enough, that I could ask questions if I didn't understand.rnThe staff on the Bariatric program could not have been any better. No page was left unturned. They jumped through hoops to make my journey as easy as possible. I have never been made to feel so special as I have by the \"Solutions Bariatric Staff\" and \"Dr. Huerta. I hope to be a voice of the future for both Dr. Huerta and the bariatric program at Horizons Medical Center in Dickson. Just as important as my surgery was the pre-op and post-op care. When I went to seminars at other facilities, I noticed that they only concentrated on the surgery itself. The surgery, while a significant part, is only a part. It is essential that I work for weeks before and years after to get the most out of the surgery and this program and Dr. Huerta never drop the ball. rnWith any surgery, there are risk. Obviously bariatric surgery is a major choice. I knew my risk every step of the way. I want to point out that Dr. Huerta takes additional steps to be thorough and safe. For example, even though a tool places more than enough staples to close openings that are made, Dr. Huerta also stitches those openings. This is an extra step he doesn't have to do, but he does anyway for the best possible success. rnI am absolutely certain that Dr. Huerta is the best choice for the surgery I had. I have the highest respect for him and would recommend him over any other Bariatric surgeon.rnPlease remember that this is a life style change. The surgery, the stay in the hospital and the before and after care are all an equal part of it. Each part is equally important and should be taken seriously.rnDr. Huerta has my complete confidence and respect for helping me to uderstand that it isn't just about a surgery.....it is about getting my life back. Thank you.

He was very nice the first time I met him. The office staff were all very sweet. He is very strict on post-op care and follow-up. He has both surgical competence and a great bedside manner.

'He is the best. He and Marcia and their staff are very strict on making sure we the patients are educated about the surgery

I think my surgeon Dr. Huerta and his nurse Marcia Williams are the best people. They make your surgery so easy, it almost makes you want to stop everyone you see and tell them about them: and I do think that Horizon Medical Center and doctor Huerta are the best for the job. If you have the surgery, please let them do it! Thanks from, Timmy Pettigrew.

I was very impressed with Dr. Huerta and his entire staff. They made me feel very comfortable about what I was doing. The informed me to the best of there ability about what to expect from the procedure and what to expect afterwards.

The Solutions program that they offer is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone considering the surgery.

I think that Dr. Huerta has a wonderful program and leaves no stone unturned when preparing you for the WLS process. He is very in depth with making sure that you have not chances of running into complications during and after surgery by having all testing that needs to be done if he feels you may be at risk for something. I had a very bad ankle sprain 2 months prior to surgery and he made sure I had a venous ultra sound to rule out blood clots. His staff is wonderful I cannot praise them enough especially Marcia she is great in making sure you are well informed and that all the T's are crossed and I's dotted to get your approval on the very first try. I am pre-op at this time, but from the surgrical manuel the aftercare is a very structured program. The risks of surgery are explained in detail over and over again, via lecture which is mandatory and through the manuel and then with the in person meeting with Dr. Huerta himself. So far 5 stars for program all the way.

When I went to his seminar, I thought that Dr. Huerta seems to be a very patient man with good listening skills.
When I met with him, my impression of him did not change much. He allowed me to ask a million questions, and answered them easily without seeming annoyed at my questions or acting like I was wasting his time.
Dr. Huerta's office staff seem very personable. His nurse, Marcia, is very sweet and at least with me, seems to be very intent on making sure that everything is done quickly and well. She wants to make sure that nothing is left to chance. I like that.
I don't really have anything that I dislike about Dr. Huerta yet.
Dr. Huerta really emphasises aftercare. He insists that his patients come to his group's support group as he is sure that the entire staff (dietician, physical therapist and at least one of the surgeons in the practice) are there for the meetings.
I will know more about the aftercare after my next appointment (my education day) but from what I have been told so far, it seems farily well-structured.
Again, we will be going over the risks of surgery at my education day, so I will update that question later.
At this time, I am rating him at about a 7.5 -- which is not bad, I will know how better to rate him after my next appointment.
Definitely surgical competence is more important than bedside manner, although without the latter, it is hard to stick around and find out about the former!
