My first impression of Dr. Kolli was excellent. I went to a Bariatric Surgery seminar that he and his staff provided for those considering the surgery. He was very informative and so was his staff. Every detail from the pre op screening process and testing through the actual surgery and aftercare were discussed at length. After the seminar I received a folder with forms that I needed to fill out and a recap of the seminar. I have since met with him and his staff and we reviewed most everything again. I am now going through all of the testing and consultations required for the surgery and his office staff continue to be very helpful. Very pleased so far with the whole process.

My first impression of Dr. Kolli was that he was very professional and competant.
His team including N.P. Karm, Dietician, Laura, P.T. Amy, and Behaviour Therapist Lynette were all very well informed and supportive. They have a structured before and after care program. Risks of surgery were fully discussed. Rate of 80% overall. He is not very personable and you can tell that Karm is the people person of the team. As I am an out-of-town patient I appreciated the care in scheduling of appointments to minimize my travel time.

I have will no longer be having surgery with Dr. Kolli. I had a lot of difficulty with their pre-operative treatment. Specifically regarding their scheduling and reviewing of blood and urine tests. Dr. Kolli also instructed me to rapidly reduce my dosage of Zoloft (anti-depressant) prior to my surgery. They gave no support or guidance on the withdrawal symptoms I might experience. They also did not check on my emotional well being after they cancelled my surgery or instruct me on how to increase my Zoloft dosage back to normal. They did not give proper written instructions on ALL of the reasons they might cancel the surgery. Please contact me if you want further information. If using this surgeon make sure you have the tests of your pre-op blookwork/urinalysis before you go to the hospital for the surgery. I literally had the i.v. taken from my hand 25 minutes before I was to go under. A devastating experience with no follow up as to my emotional state.
I now give this surgeon a rating of 50% and I DO NOT recommend this surgeon. When my first date was cancelled (because I had gained 3 pounds since my last weigh in!) the doctor insulted me by going on about how I made him lose money and that I used up a surgery date someone else might have had. He also went on to say that my belly was too heavy (by 3 lbs.!) to lift up to perform the surgery and that "they" would crucify him if he proceeded with my surgery and something went wrong. Clearly he was more worried about lawsuits than me!
I have a friend who used the same surgeon and she had a good experience so I only state this as my personal experience with Dr. Kolli.

I was impressed with the initial open seminar which included Dr. Kolli, NP Karm Macoretta, office staff, psychologist, dietitian and physical therapist.

Pre- and aftercare are paramount to the philosophy of this program.

Full disclosure of risks, success rates and long term lifestyle changes to ensure long term success.

Overall high rating, including bedside manner

My only bad experience (although significant) was an obstruction 1.5 days post-op. I had been transferred to a regular floor from ICU and the nursing staff there never notified Dr. that I had been vomiting. About 16-18 hours after I started vomiting Dr. checked on me during rounds and found out that I was critical. Again, nursing staff not MD.

I first met Dr. Kolli and all of his office staff at an informational meeting on October 16, 2004 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. I knew immediately he was the one for me. He is wonderful, caring, understanding man and I cannot say enough about his entire staff. I had my first personal appointment (11/10/04) with Dr. Kolli and his Nurse Practioner - Karmell and they were very caring and informative. They explained the procedure to me as well as the testing I would need to undergo to qualify for the surgery. I am in the process of scheduling all the appointments - the first to be done just after Thanksgiving. They are very thorough and do not leave any stone unturned. I will be having an Upper GI & venous dopplers on 11/26 and my sleep study on 11/27. My next appointments are scheduled with PT, nutrition and social work on 12/8/04. The only draw back is Dr. Kolli has only perform approx 40 surgeries in the year he has been in practice as a bariatric surgeon. The majority of his surgical cases are performed laparscopically. I will update more later.

My first impression of Dr. Kolli was that he was a very compassionate person. He told me he was going to help me which was good but what was better was that he made me feel like he was a man of his word. I look forward to continuing in his care. His office staff is the best as well. They make up a great team as a whole.

My first impression of Dr. Kolli was that he was very caring and understanding. I really love all the women in his office, they are so helpful. Dr. Kolli and his Nurse Practioner Karm are very straight forward about the risks of the surgery and they admit that the surgery may not be for everyone. They answered all of my questions in the office and on the phone whenever I had any. I know from all of the appointments that I have had in the past few months(to prepare me before surgery), that the aftercare program is rigorous. They take your health very seriiously. I am really happy that I have chosen Dr. Kolli as my surgeon, I have not had my surgery as of yet, 1 week to go!!! I am very happy that I have chosen Dr. Kolli as my surgeon.

My first impression of Dr.Kolli and his staff was that it was a cozy office. His nurse practioner, Karm, was beatiful and sweet. His office assistants, Adrienne and Kristen, went out of there way to welcome me. Never did I feel embarrased or ashamed about wanting the surgery. Dr. Kolli is a doctor that you can trust and talk easily with. Normally, I am very shy and its hard for me to open up. But not with Dr.Kolli and his staff. I knew that he was relatively new with this surgery. But I never once doubted him. I completely trusted him with my life. I am a mother of two beatiful children and I weighed heavily on having this surgery or not. I was very afraid that maybe something bad would happen. But once I met with Dr.Kolli, my fear disappeared. I had to wait a long time before my surgery got approved by insurance. His staff never let me give up hope though. Before surgery, he ran so many tests to make sure that I was mentally and phsyically ready. Karm educated me so well before the surgery that I swear I could have written a book on what to expect when having the surgery. After everything was over, I realized I owe my life to Dr.Kolli and his staff. It has only been three and a half weeks since my surgery and I can not believe how great I feel. I feel so much better than I have in years. I no longer take Protonix, Glucophage, Lipator and Progesteron any more. I have no regrets what so ever. Dr.Kolli, Karm, Kristen and Adrienne have become part of my family. Every other Tuesday, we have a support group meeting. The people that have had surgery come and Karm gives a lesson. They are wonderful people. They are just like me. Some have lost over 150 pounds in less than one year. Others have had surgery after me. I love the meetings. I am glad that I chose Dr.Kolli and his staff. I love them with my whole heart and soul!!!

What can I say about Dr. Kolli? Well to begin with, I would'nt want any other surgeon. My surgery went well but, I ended up with a couple problems afterwards. A leak and then a stricture. And Dr. Kolli was there for me 110% of the time. Very carring and very careful to make sure everything possible was being done to see that all my medical need were taken care of. And his staff was just as great and still are. Dr. Kolli has an assistent A nurse pract. Who words cant describe how great she is. She was there with me through the good times and bad times. 200% of the time. And I have watched her with other WLS patients and she is the same way. Overall I would say this is one medical team that deserves a GOLD medal.

I've only seen Dr. Kolli twice. Once at a large informational seminar and then at my own personal consult. He seemed very nice and extremely educated. My mind really was at ease with him even though I'm a little nervous that he is a brand new lap surgeon to Bariatric surgery. The only thing I am a little upset about is that my original consult was in September, I had 2 psych evals, a nutrition appt and a physical therapy appt but I have not heard anything since November. It's now January of 2004 and I'm hanging in waiting. I know it's only because of my insurance though.
