My surgery is with Dr. English at FMC. He is very caring and warm.

My surgeons are the wonderful Dr. Carlos Carrasquilla and Dr. Wayne English. They have a professional establishment in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, dedicated to the care and assistance of the morbid obese. My first impression with this office was extremely wonderful. They are a supportive and very informative group. I liked best the structure of the process, ladies dedicated to inform, others dedicated to seek approvals, others take care of you and answer questions. Aftercare was emphasized since the initial consultation. Risks, as in all surgeries, were discussed by the Dr. at the initial consultation. I rate my doctor's office with a 10 out of 10. I would imagine that you always look for surgical competence, but I have to admit a doctor may be overqualified to handle a procedure but if I do not feel comfortable with him as a person, he/she is highly unlikely to be my doctor, no matter his credentials. At this point, I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Carrasquilla or Dr. English. They are wonderful professionals with a heart.

My group consultation appointment was July 12, 2001 and Dr. English headed the meeting. I found him to be very professional; he listened to everybody's questions and concerns; made sure that everybody understood the answer he gave to a question; he thoroughly explained the surgery so that we clearly understood what was to happen; and he stressed that aftercare was highly important for success. He was an excellent lecturer! He has a pleasant personality and demeanor. I am looking foward to having my surgery performed by him.
The staff members in Dr. English's office have proven to be highly efficient, friendly, helpful, and courteous. I have had pleasant experiences with quite a few of them.

I first met with Dr Carrasquilla who seemed very nice and I could tell right away I liked him. He gladly answered every question in detail. When his office called to set a surgery date, It was mentioned that Dr English had an available date earlier than Dr C. I was so happy to be approved and wanted to start my new life ASAP so I agreed to see Dr English. He was also very nice, straight forward, reminded me of possible risks and complications. He wanted to be sure this is truly what I wanted. The staff is also very nice. Very organized and helpful. They handled the request for insurance approval and all of the paperwork. They also made all of the arrangements for the pre-op workup. They just told me when and where to be. That really helped because It gives me less to worry about. I often ask questions vie email and get a reply within a day or two. Whenever I leave a message, I get a call back. It makes me feel really good to be taken care of.
There is a great emphasis on aftercare. Alot of surgeons could do the procedure, but it takes long term commitment to patients to ensure their success and well being.

He is Dr Carrasquilla's partner. He seems very knowledgeable, gentle and willing to help. I just met him in my first appointment.
His office staff are really nice and always willing to help.
After my surgery I can reiterate that Dr English is the BEST!!, he is so professional, so sweet!!!, I would recommend him to anybody.

05/31: Had my first Consult with the surgeon it was more of a group meeting. He seems very personable and informed us very well through a video and by answering all our questions. The group only consisted of 4 people and he answered all questions carefully and accurately. I feel very good with him. From what I have heard he was the first surgeon to offer laproscopic in Florida. I also know he is teaching others abroad on the procedure.

First Impression , not much of a talker.

Office staff is wonderful.

Dr English is very nice and very thorough. I felt very comfortable with him and really felt like he cared. His office staff are very nice and were always there to answer any questions I had. When Dr English is speaking to you he gives you the feeling that you are his only patient. He even attends his support meetings and is willing to answer questions there too. I can not say enough good things about this man.

I met with Dr. Carrasquilla on Sept 8. His office staff was friendly and he was the first doctor I have ever been to who did not seem in a rush. Hopefully, my future visits will go as well.

I have opted to see Dr. English, who is an associate of Dr. Carrasquilla. He comes highly recommended and was able to free up his schedule a little allowing me to have surgery sooner. I will meet him on 11/9.

I am 6 months post op now and wanted to update a little. Dr English has proved himself to be a caring, brilliant doctor. I have the utmost respect for him. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering WLS. He performed Laproscopic RNY surgery on me 11/28/00. I have lost 76# and feel great. He also did a remarkable job with the incisions and the scars have faded to almost nothing already.

Great..Very caring and professional. The office staff has been very helpful in answering any questions and always being avail when I need them. This office offers a very thorough explanation of the surgery they hold months pre-op and post-op meetings to fully explain the risks,complications, and successes of others. Dr. English has a wonderful bedside manner and I could not have asked for a more pleasant physician who is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions with ease.
