I agree with all the wonderful things said abt Dr. Smith and his staff. Shannon is my fav!! Dr. Smith is Fab!!!!!!!! CUTE too!! :) Very professional.

The only complaint i have is the accomodations at the Best Western made via the Surgery Center in Hurst. (A surgery clinic in Hurst is where I had my surgery done.) The Best Western is OLD. NO CENTRAL AIR so the wall unit turned ON AND OFF all night every 30 seconds. Outside temp was geater than 104 degrees so you had to run it or die of heat stroke. I did not sleep due to the noise it made. Also the bed was hard as a ROCK very uncomfortable and even more so after surgery. Had I known this I would have opted to pay for another place to lodge. I payed $10,500 (out of my own pocket cuz my insurance did not cover) that included hotel. The hotel was a HUGE LET DOWN. I think this hotel should not be used.

Dr. Smith has had WLS himself, so he knows what you're going through. Almost all of his office has had it too and they are all very understanding and sweet. I switched from a surgeon in Denton to go to Dr. Smith because my co-workers used him and loved him. My first impression was that he's very knowlegable and I loved how during my consultation with him he was already mentioning the support groups that are offered. I think it's obvious that he and his staff care about changing your life for the better.

First impression - Very Friendly.

Impression never changed - Every time I've been around him he is smiling.

Office Staff - Love them. One lady is a little stuffy, but everyone else is great!

Like least - Took them awhile for them to notify me that I was approved. My paperwork was confusing though. It was very frustrating at the time. The did get me scheduled right away once we figured out I was actually already approved.

Future Patients - He has had the surgery himself. So, he knows your struggle. He will not always be the one that does your fills. There are 2 other Dr's that work there. One of them is kinda straight faced and serious. Kind of scarey looking. lol Some people say they bruise when he does their fills.

Aftercare - I have not had any complications. I make appointments when I think I need a fill. The nurses are always willing to answer questions. I jave not seen any structure.

Risk - He sat down with me one on one and then one of the nurses talked with me.

Rate - I would give him a 10 of 10. The office a 9 of 10. (Comparing them to the office staff and surgeons I delt with at Southwest Medical Center.) So glad I didn't have my surgery there.

I think both surgical competence and bedside manner are great.

WOW what can I say. Dr. Smith and the rest fo the staff and just AMAZING! I have never been so impressed with a Doctor's office in my life. They are so polite, professional, and just all around great people. I actually felt like an individual and not a class of people. I would highly reccomend them and will more than likely take my daughter to the for her LapBand. This says alot for me if I am going to trust my daughter to them as well. Even though I have had some complications they are just as nice as if I was the easiest patient.

Dr. Smith was an awesome choice! He was so helpful and kind. What made it even better is, he has Lap Band too, so he knows exactly what's going on. Overall I'd choose him again :)

I love Dr. Smith and the majority of his staff. They are there to support their patients as needed and provide a wealth of information for anything you may need. I especially enjoyed knowing that not only was my surgeon a proponent for Lap Band but that he was also a patient himself. More than any other fact, that is what first drew him to me. rnrnAfter surgery I have not been to the office often. I had an adjustment every 2 months and have only recently had a partial deflate after I contracted a stomach virus. However the staff was accommodating and got me in and taken care of the same day I called. rnrnI enjoyed my initial visit with Dr. Smith and after my one year appointment I am excited to announce that with Dr. Smith and his staffs assistance, I have lost 113 pounds... That's a high school cheerleader, WOW!rnrnWith 42 pounds to my goal, I look forward to living my life fully, and living life with my family. This next year will be a busy one and I now have the energy to keep up. rnrnThank you, Dr. Smith and staff, for changing my life for the better and helping my live again!

Dr. Smith is great , not only is he a weight loss surgeon that specializes in lap-band surgery, he is also a lap-band patient. Who can better motivate and understand you than a person who has actually walked a mile in your shoes before surgery as well as after.

My surgeon is an wonderful guy. He has had the lap band himself and understands what its like to be overweight and what its like to have the band. Would recommend him to anyone.
