I couldn't thank Dr. Abkin enough for such a positive life changing experience. My surgery date for lap band was april 17th 2012 I weighed in at 230 lbs. Today, may 3rd 2012 was my 2 week post op visit and I weighed in at 208 lbs. I feel amazing,beautiful,healthy and full of energy that I haven't had in years! Dr. Abkin was hand in hand with me from begining to the end. From the million and one questions to multiple consult visits he never let me down. I was so excited today at my visit that I hugged him saying " thank you I truly couldn't have done this with out you". It's the truth. I also want to add that every single staff member nurse,receptionist, insurance (heather you were great), Trish the nurse practioner, everyone is extremely helpful and will always be there for you. I myself know I probably drove them a little nuts but they never let me down. I would recommend anyone who needs the help and wants to live a longer, healthier, lifestyle to use Dr. Abkin. Dr. Abkin is my hero! The decision to have bariatic surgey was made so much more easier after meeting with Dr. Abkin. He is a caring person in conjunction with being a skilled surgeon and medical doctor. I found it so comforting that he talks to you so that you understand the process you will be going through. His office staff is excellent. Everyone makes you feel that you are the most important person who has waked into the office. I knew so much about my surgery that I felt so comfortable with the procedure. Every step of the process is thoroughly explained to you. If you have any questions, they are answered until you are satidfied. Dr. Abkin will recommend other physicians if you need them regarding any other health issues you might have. The follow-up from his office staff is wonderfal. I am beginning my new life journey and I can not thank Dr. Abkin enough.

Doctor Abkin preformed the vertical sleeve gastrectomy procedure on me in May 2011. He was a great surgeon to have and will work with you to make sure that you get all the care that you need. Additionally the staff at Dr. Abkins office was amazing. The insurance department will do everything they can to make sure you get your surgery. Advanced Laproscopics of Morris provided an extremely supportive environment and I am so thankful for everything they have done.

I believe Things Happen for a Reason! I work at St Clares and have been thinking about weight loss surgery. I have just been to chicken to move forward and actually attend a seminar and get the ball rolling. I know several people at the Hospital who have done it and they have told me how good Dr Abkin is and so nice. But i still was nervous.

Then it happened... I ran into a nice man while i was preparing a room for a meeting. He was very easy to talk to kind, and when I asked his name... it was Dr Abkin... the very Surgeon who my friends had referred me to.

After years of yoyo dieting with my weight coming off quickly with diet pills then to only go back right on again I was frustrated. I was frustrated and in pain since I have arthritis in my back and right ankle already. I would work out only to be in pain from the impact on my joints and still eating large portions. Since going to Dr.Abkin I have lost weight without being hungry. I have been better educated through him and his refferals on how to live a healty lifestyle. It's like I knew what too do but couldnt make myself stop eating certain portions. Through the help of this surgery and the amazing tool Dr.Abkin has given it has already made me feel better about this exiting, healthy new lifestyle. I meet Dr.Abkin many years ago through a Dr. that I worked for in the morristown area, my first impression of Dr.Abkin was wonderful, he was very professional, polite and just spoke highly of his work. His first impression stuck with me years after i stopped working for that Dr. When I decided that I was going to go for weight loss surgery, I went to other seminars with different doctors, but just did not feel a good vibe. So time went on and I came across Dr.Abkin's name and rembered how much a wonderfiul Dr he is and I googled his name and found his office. I was happy that I was able to find him....I went to one of his seminars and had a very good feeling about him and his practice. I scheduled my consult with him and have been with his office ever since...I would not go to any other Dr. Dr.Abkin makes you feel so at ease with what goes along with weight loss surgery. HE explains everything to you in detail, from before surgery to after surgery and then you journey.My impression about Dr.Abkins just gets better. After surgery in your follow up he talks about the healing process and also what comes along with weight loss surgery.
