Dr. Abkin and his staff are the most professional Doctor and staff I have ever encountered. I am 10 days post op and have already lost 16 lbs. I used to wear an insulin pump and am currently insulin free. At this time, I am only taking a half of a pill of metformin without any other treatment for diabetes and my blood sugar numbers are under control. A great big THANK YOU to Dr. Abkin and his wonderful satff!
Dr Abkin and his team are wonderful. I was treated professionally, respectfully and with care. Through the surgery I have lost 100+ lbs. I have regained my confidence and health. I would recommend Dr Abkin and his practice to anyone.
Dr Abkin did my VSG 5 weeks ago. If it weren't for the fact that I can only eat my 4 ounces of food at each meal, I would not believe I had surgery. I woke up from anesthesia not needing one dose of pain medicine. Two days after surgery I was out for short periods of time and driving short distances. By the first day of my full liquid phase I was hitting my liquid and protein goals.
I have found that following Dr Abkin's post op instructions and Annamarie's nutritional guidelines helps ensure a quick successful recovery.
Without a doubt, I would recommend Dr Abkin and his staff to anyone looking to have Bariatric Surgery.
Dr Abkin did my gastric sleeve 3 years ago and I could not be more pleased. I lost 100 pounds and look and feel great. His process from start to finish is very professional and supportive. I have recommended him to friends and they have been pleased as well.
I had a gastric bypass done by Dr. Abkin almost 5 months ago I have lost 36 pounds. His staff, himself and the other dr in his practice have been wonderful. The are always helpful, willing to help and kind. I owe all of them my sincere gratitude, I have recovered my health, self esteem and live for life. A surgery that not only help me with my obesity problem but fixed a hiatal hernia that was killing me. Thank you Dr Abkin and thank you to all your staff from Morristown.
I had Bypass with Dr Abkin and am still an active patient with his practice. It is disheartening when i see a negative post such as the one posted yesterday. I have had nothing but good response from the office and the doctors. I have heard from patients in the past that had issues when they DID NOT FOLLOW our RULES and would go to a hospital that our Doctor's don't go to. If that the case
then shame on the patient for NOT following our Practice Rules.
I have so much respect for all three of the doctors in Dr Abkin's practice. Thanks for always being there for us! Happy Surgiversary as we are about to hit the 12 year mark! YEAH.. best thing i ever did for Myself!
As we near the end of 2013 I felt I need to make a shout out to my Favorite Surgeon, Dr Alexander Abkin. On Dec 7th was my 9th Anniversary of my Gastric Bypass with Dr Abkin. 9 years later and Dr Abkin is still very much a part of my life. This year Dr Abkin and I began an ONLINE Support Group for his patients that can't find the time to come to the office for our monthly support groups. Dr Abkin's program is very proactive. He and his staff are there for the patients Before, During and After the surgery. The In office support and the Facegroup Support allows his patients to keep in touch with other patients of the practice and with the office for any needs they may have.
I'd like to Thank Dr Abkin again for all he has done for me personally. In addition, for being there for the patients. We look forward to our visits from Dr Abkin and Dr Botvinov when they stop by our monthly meetings! Dr Abkin truly cares about his patients and loves to keep up with their progress. I want to take a moment to Thank a very special person who has really changed my Life for the better! 8 years ago was my Gastric Bypass Surgery and without that I wouldn't be healthy enough to do all that i do. So THANK YOU Dr Alexander Abkin for Not only Giving me back my health ... but sticking with me to face each challenge and helping me to move forward! You are a great Surgeon, fantastic person and an awesome friend!
And for anyone on my friend list who sees this... Weight Loss Surgery is NOT A MAGIC PILL or "THE EASY WAY OUT" but a fantastic Tool that gave me the ability to restrict what i was eating and taught me what i needed to do to be successful for the Long Haul. So anyone who has ever considered weight Loss surgery or knows someone who is interested in Weight Loss Surgery, have them message me and I can hook then up.
It's hard to believe it was 8 years ago... but without this surgery i don't even know if i would still be here... so Diabetes GONE, SLeep Apnea.. GONE... Heart Problems... Resolved... thats a pretty good REPORT CARD and I can't say enough about Dr Abkin and his Program. It is Life Long and he's been there for anything I needed. i'm over four years out form Gastric Bypass and can't say enough about Dr. Abkin and Dr. Bertha. Not only did they give me back my health but they gave me a whole new reason to get up every day.rnrnMy case has not been an easy one but I do credit them for actually being in this and committed to their patients for Life. rnrnDr. Abkin has a great personality and is very easy to talk to about anything. Both the doctors attend their new patient seminars and will stay and speak with the patients and answer any questions that you have. I just need to Thank Dr Alexander Abkin for giving me back my life! He said he could do it ... and he did! I had the bypass 6 months ago and I'm down 90 pounds! I'm still in shock of how great i feel! Thank you for helping me believe it was possible. Without the support of your staff and patients i would not have gone through with it. Now i can't imagine how bad my life would be if i HADN'T had the surgery. You are a kind person, awesome doctor and great motivator!
I just have to say... Dr Abkin... You Changed My Life! I had the Sleeve 6 weeks ago and I'm already down 50 pounds! I was not sure if this was the right way to go, but Now I know it was the ONLY WAY I could get my Health back on track so fast!

I guess it's fair to say that people like myself Are Very "Needy" and Dr Abkin and the people in his office were there to help me through every Hoop the Insurance Threw at me. I have one of the many Insurances that would prefer to pay for all my medical issues and medicines rather than help me have the surgery and get healthy! Go Figure... anyway... We DID IT!
