Bipan Chand Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

My surgeon was very informative about the procedures available. His office staff are also very nice and are always willing help. They are very busy but always manage to return your calls very quickly when they are not available. Dr. Chand explained to procedure and all of the related risks. I am very confident I have chosen the right doctor !

I have only been to a workshop thus far. Dr. Chand seemed very kind and knowledgeable. rnFollow-up: I have gone through all the pre-surgical requirements. I am currently waiting on a date. I have been pleased with the way everything has been handled to date. My only complaint would be how long it takes to get anything done. Appointments are scheduled 6-8 weeks out.

I found Dr. Chand to be very warm and knowledgable. He came in with a smile on his face and seems to have much compassion and an excellent bedside manner. His nurse, Ruth, is also very kind and helpful. I am at the beginning of my journey at this point, he says to expect a surgery scheduled within 1 month to 1 and 1/2 months. I am truly looking forward to working with Dr. Chand and his staff. The office women are also very kind and very helpful with scheduling appointments and answering questions.

I liked Dr. Chand from day one. His staff is very nice and caring and helpful. My surgery went off without a hitch. My post op appointments with him have made me appreciate him even more. He make you feel like more than just a patient to him. I highly reccomend him!!!!

I think each time I meet with Dr. Chand, I like him even more. He is supportive, caring and has a great bedside manner. Right from the start he makes it clear that this surgery is a tool and you will be required to follow the guidelines given to you to use this tool successfully. I am very glad I had my surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and especially glad to have had it done by Dr. Chand. I would encourage anyone to at least consider Dr. Chand and the Cleveland Clinic for your weight loss surgery.

my first impression of dr chand was a doctor who cares. and it has only gotten better the longer i know him. his nurse and staff have been fabulous and very patient and understanding. there was ONE thing i can think of that they could have done better, not have to loose weight before surgery. one thing to do is be honest and upfront with the doctor and you have nothing to worry about. after surgery the doctor has emphasized aftercare very much. to get me prepared i have been armed with all the tools i am going to need to be on track. the doctor addressed the risks of surgery in a very matter of fact way. and was very thourough and allowed me to ask any questions i wanted to. i would rate dr chand overall as superb. his competency and bedside manner are both fantastic.

The staff at Cleveland Clinic have been very nice and supportive as well.

We discussed the pre-op and post-op information and will go into more detail as needed. He stressed that this is just a tool not a cure for my obesity.

Cleveland Clinic has a set structured schedule of things that must be done prior to surgery and after surgery, they are very organized in their efforts to help people with weight issues.

Dr. Chand is very kind, attentive and thorough. Since I began my journey about 4 years ago the program has really improved. When I started out there was no organization and I didn't really have a contact person to go to. Back at that time I kind of felt like I was flying by the seat of my pants. Now things are totally organized and they have an actual program for new patients including an aftercare program. Dr. Chand was very honest about risks/benefits and is also very enthusiastic. I would highly recommend Dr. Chand for both his surgical excellence as well as his wonderful bedside manner.

He was one that you gained trust and respect for immediately. Now that surgery is over and I am 2 months into post op, I can say that he was more than anyone could ask for before, during and after surgery. He kept my family informed during the procedure and after. He visited me the day after surgery while his team visited me other times.

He was honest prior to surgery by giving me all the information I needed to make a final decision - everything from risks of surgery as well as what to expect after surgery.

He is SUPERIOR!
