Dr. Sunby is a direct and to the point kind of guy. The office staff is always helpful and they promptly return calls. Aftercare is HUGE with the Dean weight management program. They provide you with a list in the beginning of the process to point out how often you are required to return AFTER surgery. Dr. Sunby and other staff are quick to explain the risks of this surgery. I highly reccomend Dr. Sunby and the Dean Weight Management Program.

Dr Sunby is a wonderful doctor. Very straight forward with what complications I may have. I am having a revision of the bypass surgery, wishes he would have done the original one. He cares very much for his patients, making sure they get the best care needed. All I have to say is thank god for Dr Sunby. I know with him I am in good hands.

My first impression of Dr Sunby was great and it hasn't changed. He is down to earth, easy to understand and just makes a person feel comfortable about who they are. He was very straightforward when he talked about the risks of surgery. I will update more on Dr Sunby after my surgery is done. But as far as preop goes I couldn't ask for someone to make me feel more comfortable going into this. rnrn04/13/2007 I forgot to come back and update this after surgery but I will do it now. rnDr Sunby and his staff and St Marys Hospital were all great through the surgery procedure and after. I have nothing bad to say about any of them. Would recommend Dr Sunby to anyone.

Dr Sunby is a wonderful surgeon that cares about his patients. He always answered my questions and has been honest with me at all times. I have a lot of respect for him. He has the best staff a surgeon can want, his nurse Judy is wonderful and the group of people that are part of the Dean clinic are great to work with. theresa and Gil are wonderful and my Nutritionist is a very caring woman that is there to educate you about the choices you need to make before surgery and after surgery. He is not Dr. Keil so I don't expect small talk from him. I do make him laugh so I kow he listens to what I say. You are going to be in very capable hands if he does your surgery. He emphasizes and all around program that mean a lot of follow ups with the team. He is very honest about all the risk this surgery brings I really enjoyed that about him. He explained the surgery to me and told me from the beggining what he was going to do. I would rate him at a 10+ as a surgeon. His surgical competence is amaizing his bedside manner with me was great but as he gets to know me better I think it will improve. I do believ the team aproach they have at Dean Care is the way to go.

Dr. Sunby and his staff are great! The program through the Dean Clinic is so thorough and educational. They cover everything you need to know about the surgery, preop info and post op info. I can't say enough about the staff and education they provided. St. Mary's hospital is where I had the surgery and the staff there was excellent too.

I have had Dr. Sundby as a surgeon before and was very impressed with him. He is an excellent and proficient surgeon who I trust completely. So far with the bariatric process I have only had to meet with him once. I deal mostly with the bariatric coordinator, Lauren Winters. I immediately liked Lauren when I met here. However I have had difficulty getting responses from her on certain things. Mostly this was due to her or someone being out of the office. She is very overworked which also makes it difficult to pin her down.

Great news to add. This past go around with my insurance appeal I was lucky enough to deal with another addition to the Bariatric team and Dean care. Her name is Gil and she is wonderful to deal with. Very responsive and kind. She is a definate asset to the team.

Dr Sunby is very technically qualified. Her shoots straight and doesn't mince words or camoflage his statements. I prefer my PCP's bedside manner but I think they are differently trained doctors and I don't want a surgeon to be so tactful. Tell it to me straight! This however does take some getting used to. His nurse Judy is great, and the people at the bariatric program all seem excellent. Dr. Sunby took care of me in ways I hadn't even thought about - my band placement, my port placement and how these were both structured. Aftercare is very much emphasized. I haven't had a fill yet but do have an appointment scheduled for 5 weeks after the surgery. At this point I'm not sure I need one. We'll see what next week brings. Overall I am very pleased with my selection of Dr. Sunby.

My first imression of him was that he really seemed very concerned and egar to help. He tends to run a bit late but he gives you the time each member needs.

My impression has not yet changed. I trust that he hasa my best interest a heart.

His office staff has been very helpful. They also get back to right away.

Like I said before was that he runs a bit late.

yes he does have a sturctrued aftercare program. He works with of team of people that all are very helpful. My whole process has been very stress free and smooth going. I have been very lucky (knock on wood) not to have ran into any bumps along the way. I think that is because Dean Care has a great program in place to help people wanting WLS. So overall I would rate them a 10+
