My first impression of Dr. Kollar was very positive. He was very pleasant, answered all of my questions and truly seemed to care about me as a person. My impression has only gotten better over time. Dr. Kollar is a very understanding Doctor. He cares about my success and is truly excited about the progress I have made. The office staff has always been supportive and helpful. They will go out of their way to help, whether it is in getting approvals or answering questions. I can not say that I have anything negative to say about Dr. Kollar. Dr. Kollar strongly emphasizes aftercare in his initial consultation and afterwards. He does have a structured aftercare program in place. He has both regularly scheduled follow-up visits and a monthly support group. He explained the risks of the surgery in his initial consultation. I rate Dr. Kollar as an excellent surgeon. Both his surgical competence and besdside manner are great.

Dr. Kollar has been a savior for me in so many ways. He was so caring from the first time I stepped into his office he explained everything to me and showed me pictures and diagrams. He made me feel at ease with the decision I was making. His office staff is incredable they go above and beyond the call of duty (especially Jim)to help out with insurance company problems. Dr. Kollar gave me lots of material to read before my surgery and he made sure I understood the after care instructions. He did go over the risks of the surgery with me yet still made me feel confident in my choice. Overall I think Dr. Kollar made my surgery as easy on me as possible and he was wonderful during my recovery.

From the first time I met Dr. Koller I knew he was the right person for the job. I am not new to major operations as I had a benign brain tumor and found a great neurosurgeon, so I consider myself an expert. Dr. Koller's staff is by far the most attentive staff I have come across. Even contacting me to tell me there is no progress, although this call only came once since I was approved in under 4 weeks. Dr. Koller is a straight shotter he tells you everything that may or may not happen, and you leave his office feeling educated and ready.

My first impression of Dr Kollar was that I was made to feel very comfortable about the surgery. He was great about ALL the questions I had. The staff especially Dave and John were always very helpful. Dr Kollar's after care program was easy to understand and follow. His emphasize on aftercare was you get out of it, what you put into it, exercise, drink fluids, take your supplements, and chew thoroughly.
I think that we are tough on the "subject" when we are asking what kinds of risks there were types of questions.
He explained any weight we could lose before surgery it would only benefit us.
Dr. Kollar is highly recommended by myself and my wife, he explains things and is adamant about aftercare.
I guess I am one of the exceptions, I don't have anything to say negatively about Dr. Kollar. My experience with Dr. Kollar would be one I would do ALL over again.

Thanks Doc !

My first impression of Dr. Kollar, will be an everlasting one. He was up front with me about any questions/concerns I had and he was very informative about the surgery, risk and aftercare.
He has a wonderful staff, who are only a phone call away.
What impressed me the most is he doesn't look at the patient as a body, he looks at each person, as a person.

8/4/04 - Since my original post, I have changed surgeons and now am going with Dr. Kollar. I met with him several months ago and he was referred to me by my gynocologist. He seems to be great - I was so comfortable with him...he was friendly, gave me all the information I needed, and then some...answered all of my questions that I had. He told me all about the risks involved...I told him how much research I had done and as we were talking, he stated that I definitely had done my research and knew a lot about what's involved. The staff is great - Jim is a pleasure to deal with and is so friendly!

Dr. Kollar was a very kind and well spoken Dr. he was also very informative. he answered all my questions (and boy I had 2 pages full). He took time with me and did not push me out. His staff are all very sweet and understanding. That tells alot about a Dr. when his staff is very respectful to you.

I had originally met with Dr. Benotti but that didn't work out for insurance reasons, anyway I just met with Dr. Kollar and he is terrific. Cynthia the secretary was awesome. I did not feel uncomfortable at all. I cried but didn't feel stupid like some other times. He wanted to know what I knew about the surgery, and why I was contemplating this surgery. He does do Lap so Iwas rwally happy about that. He does require I see a gatrenterologist/ nutrtionist and have a physch eval done. That made me even more comfortable because the other two I had seen did not require those steps.

I have been researching this surgery for 6 months, I attented a seminar at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack New Jersey the first week of February 2003. The physicians who do this work stated that the hospital is charging 15,000 dollars upfront and are not taking insurance. After all the bickering back and forth, and the doctors leaving my insurance network, I decided to look for other surgens in the area including New York and Philadelphia.

Al Roker's doctor is out of network and had a wait until July, Dr. Garber from Long Island the same and out of network. Did research for Philadelphia and the physicians over the bridge have a year wait.

A woman form the seminar who lives nearby from me state that she was going to a Dr. Christopher Kollar DO. he does his surgery in Pascack Valley in Westwood, New Jersey. His wait was only weeks. She called me on a Sunday, she had had her surgery only after a wait of 3 weeks from the time of her initial consult.

I called his office on a Monday March 10th and I have an appoitment on this Friday 14th.
I am excited, I believe that this was a gift from GOD. I have been so fustrated about the whole thing, and then out of a clear blue sky, the aquaintance I met at the seminar called and gave me peace of mind.

I will keep let all know how Dr. Kollar is when I see him. After all I am a health care worker and have a lot of questions that need to be answered.
