David Klem Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I have met with the surgeon a few times. He is very honest and direct with me and I really like that. He talks to me on my level. He emphisizes the importance for follow up visits and support groups.

This is my second encounter with Dr. Klem. Performed minor outpatient surgery for my son. The office staff is great! Pre-op care, testing was all covered and follow-up done by the staff. The expectations for surgery were covered as well as post surgery. I have an appointment this week for my final pre-op.

I have seen David twice. I have enjoyed talking with him as he seems to treat each patient like an individual and not just another person with a \"generic\" run down of the lap-band procedure. rnrnThe Bariatric Center at Central DuPage Hospital was so warm and welcoming from the first visit. From the reception desk to the nurses, nutrition staff, etc. rnrnI would rate this facility and doctor out of 10 an 8.

Dr. Klem just gave me my first fill. 3cc I can fell a difference. It's a good feeling but not if you dont chewwww. Anybody had there first yet? By the way I fell that I have a pretty good understanding of Dr. Klem. He is the best choice I have made in a long time. I could have went so much closer to my home for a doctor but I heard he is the best and he is!!!! I have lost about 25 lbs since sugery and I walk everyday. I fell as if my life has just begun. Thanks to Dr.Klem

My first impression of Dr. Klem was that he was way to young to be cutting on me. I was very impressed with his manners, and it didn't take me more than one meeting to see that he was the surgeon for me. The staff at DuPage Hospital in Wheaton were very nice, although I have to admit it was hard getting through to a live person usually had to leave a message, and someone would call back. I was very pleased with my overall clinical care. While in the hospital I did have a little scare for Klem and I was placed back in to ICU, and I didn't care for the nurse that was responsible for my care, but Dr. Klem took care of that the following morning when he came in to check up on me first thing. I would recommend Dr. Klem to anyone who is interested in bariatric surgery, and they have a chance to choose their surgeon. I myself am please with the overall before, during, and after care from Dr. David Klem, and his staff at Dupage Hospital.

I first met Dr. Klem is December of 2005. From the very beginning I have had nothing but a fantastic experience with him and the entire staff at the bariatric clinic. It took a while to finally have my procedure done (due to my insurance) but I did have it on August 30,2006 and Dr. Klem has been nothing but supportive and helpful to me and my husband during this entire process. I highly recommend him if you are interested in having the lap band surgery done. There is a great aftercare program that includes a support group meeting on the fourth Monday of every month at the hospital. I can't stress enough to everyone how wonderful Dr. Klem has been to me before, during and after my surgery! I give Dr. Klem a 10.

Dr. K;em was very nice and professional. He told me what I needed to know and that was enough for me. I wanted details...not a buddy. The office staff has been great though my first meeting I was not thrilled with. Aftercare is stressed and I wanted that in a program....they have weekly meetings and follow up appointments. All risks were stressed. I'd give Dr. Klem and his Bariatric staff, a 10. Both are needed when a major surgery is being done as the stress levels are higher for the patient who needs a skilled surgeon.

I thought Dr Klem was wonderful. He is very warm and seems to have a wonderful bedside manner about him. He is down to earth and sympathetic at the same time firm about what is involved and the follow up, time and money that is invested. His staff was very friendly from the start. I had researched the after care and diet a lot and knew what they were talking about. Aftercare is a huge deal with them and CDH. Its part of everything! From getting your blood levels checked, to making sure your doing okay with the progress. Dr Klem discussed the types of surgery perfomed and the risks involved with them. We decided on Lapriscopic Gastric Bypass. I wasn't thrilled about the Lap Band's weight loss in the long run.
I went out of the room positive with my choice for surgery, my comitment and the doctor and staff involved. They left me with a buzz of energy and confidence in what I was doing! I definately recommend their Center and staff to all...and boy do they know their insurances! They will help get on the fighting bandwagon for you!

Doctor Klem was an excellent doctor. He took care of all of my needs. When I had questions outside of his office he took time to call me back. He is a young guy that is intouch with the real world and our society. His office staff if very nice except for this one lady named Gina. She is the finance lady, and if you read my post you will notice the problems that I had with her. He emphasize getting your nutrients and protien and he lets you know how essatential these vitamins are to your future life. He does have an group at Central Dupage Hospital that if also very helpful, and even if you can not make it to the meetings they have online support. He lets you know exactly what the rist are of surgery. If I was to rate him on a scale of 1-10 I would give him an 11. His surgical bedside manner is wonderful, and his surgical competence is great.

I have met Dr Klem once and I have another appointment with him Tuesday. He knowledgable and concerned. I will have a better impression in a couple of weeks.
