Today is my 7 year anniversary of my WLS. I started at 449 lbs, size 62 waist, 5X shirts. Today I'm 215 size 34/36 waist & M/L shirts. I wasn't able to remain standing for more than 20 min at a time. Now I am able to do ANYTHING I desire. Dr. Lourie saved my life! THANK YOU DR. LOURIE!!!!!

Dr.Lourie is a wonderful surgeon! I had gastric bypass 11/28/05 and have had no complications! My sister and brother had surgery some where else due to insuarance and they have had minor issues, problems with nausea and vomiting still 2yrs+ out and I don't, now that may be me but I think it's his way of doing the surgery!! He's the best and his nurse Monique is a doll. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr.Lourie and his staff. I even sent my other sister to him to have the surgery. I told her you can't go anywhere else!!

Dr. Lourie seemed so soft spoken, but he doesn't mess around when it comes to his surgeries. He has a great reputation for being a expert surgeon and caring much for his patients. He is strict, but that is because he wants the best results for his patients. I trust him totally with my life!!rnHe is well informed with the latest and keeps his patients informed in Gastric Bypass. He knows how to operate with DiVinci Robotic Laparoscopic Surgery - the latest in Laparoscopic Surgery. rnHe has a very thorough Gastric Bypass program at Huntington Hospital. rnI owe Dr. Lourie alot for operating on me with no complications AT ALL!!rn

Dr. Lourie is awesome. The overall program he has created for WLS patients is top notch and is an industry leader. Dr. Lourie himself is pretty quiet and hard to get to know, but when you look at all he has accomplished, you see his brilliance. From the required information session at the beginning, through the printed materials on detailed nutritional guidelines, the thorough work-up pre-surgery and follow-through after surgery, to the support groups, Dr. Lourie and the other surgeons on his team have put together a fabulous program that practically guarantees success. It's no wonder that their program has been designated a Center of Excellence and is a model for other programs around the country. I just count myself lucky to live close enough to take advantage of such a skilled team.

I have been so happy with Dr. Lourie. Right away I knew that he cared about my health and success with the surgery. At first I was not impressed by the office, as they were busy and did not return my calls in a timely manner. I have since learned that there are a lot of people in need of WLS and his office is extremley busy! Monique has turned out to be a big help and has since returned many (and I mean many) of my calls.rnrnI have had exceptional care. Dr. Lourie was very thorough before the surgery and has continued to look out for me. I have had no complications and am steadily losing weight.

Dr. Lourie and his staff are just wonderful. I always felt important and knew that any questions that I might have would be answered. Dr. Lourie checked in on me after my surgery many times and that made me feel at ease. Dr. Lourie and his staff do emphasize aftercare and do address the risks of surgery. With 10 being best I would rate Dr. Lourie with a 20!!!

my first impression abour the doctor was that he made me feel comfortable. I did not change. The office staff was great and they tell you everything upfront. He is a great doctor and answers all of your questions. He cant stress enough about aftercare and to follow the diet. Yes, it is a very structured aftercare program. The doctor not only tells you but you are giving a folder with all the details of risks, surgery procedures,an the diet to follow. He is a fantastic doctor.

I met Dr Lourie at his monthly symposium. He is a soft spoken man. But passionate about his craft. He covered in detail the surgery, the risks, and I was impressed with the amount of information he covered. Most of the questions I had before I got there were answered during his presentation. I met with him for my consultation last week and he was even more impressive. I had 5 pages (front and back) of questions and he answered each and every one of them. He didnt make me feel rushed or seem like he had to hurry me along to get to another waiting patient. I appreciated that. Any apprehension I had about the surgery before is gone now. Linda, helped coordinate my pre-op testing and helped me understand the insurance web. I am now in the process of completing my pre-op testing and should have my surgery date by next month. I would like to say only one negative thing though, the magazine selection in his office was really sparse. (laughing)

So far, I've met Dr. Lourie twice. First, at the symposium, which I HIGHLY recommend people attend to learn more about the surgery. Pasadena Lap Surgeon group is awesome. They have great numbers, very informative, very caring and I was VERY impressed. When I met Dr. Lourie, I again was blown away. He is a wonderful, nice, sweet and gentle man. Usually, surgeons are brisk and abrupt. Dr. Lourie was patient and explained everything. He spent a lot of time answering my questions and I did not feel rushed or anything. I feel completely safe with him and will update more after the surgery. So far, I have nothing negative to say about him!! Thanks!
