I have corresponed with the Images staff via e-mail and phone. They are very supportive, on their toes, and seem to know what they're doing. I have not had contact with Dr. Hall personally. There was a little misshap in which the information about my weight did not get changed and my insurer denied me because my previous, lighter weight was used in the letter from the surgeon. No big deal, I made a phone call and everyone did their part to correct it and then I was approved the same day. Mistakes happen from time to time for everyone, what impressed me was how they addressed the problem as soon as it was recognized. They are making all the arrangements for travel and hotel stay, just as they had promised. So far, I give them a rating of "over-the-top excellent".

I had an open VBG on July 18, 2001. there were no complications, and the hospital stay was uneventful. To date i have lost 96 pounds, in 6 months and I am very pleased that i had the surgery. It has been a life changing experience.

So far so good. These folks seem to have it going on. Here I am in Georgia and they are in Texas. That fact did concern me until they sent me a list of former clients. I was surprised as to how many there were from Georgia.

That was a great deal of relief for me.

Sheridan was and continues to be very very helpful. I don't feel like a number there.

The information they provided was very good. And they have been willing to answer any and all of my questions.

On the other hand, I haven't actually met or spoke with the doctor. But in talking with other paitents, they have a comfort level and that gives me a comofort level.

They gave me choices on what surgery I would be most interested in and have definitely been up front regarding the potential danger involved.

My first impression of Dr. David Hall (Lubbock, TX) was that he was a very caring and understanding man. His office staff greeted me with open arms and actually cared to listen to the things that truly bothered me about the thoughts involving the surgery. Dr. Hall spent from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. discussing everything about the VBG and the RxY bypass surgery, and it set my mind at ease. I knew for sure after that day that I was doing the right thing.

He told me about aftercare and about taking care of myself and my diet. Always follow your diet! I had surgery on Wedneday, January 16th, 2002 - and I have yet to be sick (today is January 26th, 2002).

Dr. Hall showed care, love, and great mannerisms throughout the surgery and my stay in the hospital. I'm glad that I was chosen by him to have the surgery.

I have not met Dr. Hall, but I have a couple of friends who had him as their surgeon. His staff has been extremely helpful and I was able to do much of the "leg work" online at their website. They kept me informed of the process and I was immediately approved by my insurance company (United Health Care PPO). The process so far has taken almost a month (it was my Christmas gift to me). I have been amazed at how fast and how easy this has been for me. My only issue at this time is that I wish that their website was more informative, but it is my understanding that their website is going to be "beefed up".

Dr. Hall was wonderful!!!! I could not say enough about him or his office staff. He was very honest about the ups and downs, what would happen if you did what you were not supposed to. He spent an entire afternoon talking with us in a group reviewing the surgery detail by detail, possible complications and everything else that you could have imagined. He left room for very few questions. If you do not live close to his office, he asks that you contact him on a monthly basis, when I left I had every pager and phone number needed to contact him for any reason, email addresses, etc. There was no way Dr. Hall or his nurse Chantelle could get away from us. On a scale from 1-10 I would give him a 25+!! He truly has his patients best intrest at heart. I could not have made a better decision than to go to Texas and have Dr. Hall perform my procedure. (I am from Georgia)

My first impression of Dr. Hall was that he was nice but a little quiet.

My impression didn't change much over time. Dr. Hall does have a sense of humor about him, but for the most part he was very serious and straight forward.

Dr. Hall's office staff couldn't have been any kinder. They became my family when I was in Lubbock. Don't know what I'd of done without them?!!!

If I had to say there were ONE thing that I liked least about Dr. Hall, it would be the fact that he's done so many VBGs over the years, that he seemed bored at times with my questions. It's hard to surprise him.

The one thing future patients should definately KNOW about Dr. Hall is that he openly prefers VBG surgery over RNY. He has done RNYs in the past, but not many. So if you really WANT to have RNY surgery - you should consider another doctor!!! THIS IS MY OPINION.

Dr. Hall is very thorough. He spent as much time discussing the surgical procedures to us (VBG and RNY) as he did the complications associated with each. He also explained what would be required of us after surgery. His aftercare program is quite strick - but again very thorough.

Dr. Hall's aftercare program is clearly defined and structured. If, at any time, you EVER have ANY questions he highly encourages you to call him Right Away!

Dr. Hall is quite serious when it comes to possible complications during surgery. This is a very serious operation and he is quite clear about that.

If I had to rate Dr. Hall on a scale of 1-10, I'd give him an 8.

In my opinion, bedside manner is important - just NOT as an important as having a competent surgeon. Dr. Hall is a very competent surgeon!

My first impression of him was that he seemed serious and had a job to do and that was to let us know the seriousness of this surgery and to let us know everything we needed to know about it. After spending some time with him I realized that he did have a personality. He made me feel better about asking questions. I'll let you know about his surgical competence after surgery (hopefully):-) The office staff was excellent!
