Dr. Vaughn performed my roux en y bypass in 2/2003 & he was EXCELLENT! 13 years & 2 HEALTHY children later, I have put the weight back on & need him again! No doubt that when I'm able I'm calling him and ONLY him up! He changed my life!

Dr.Vaughn did my open Roux-N-Y about 10 years ago. I weighed 238lbs and I am currently 130lbs. Very happy :) It's not always easy to maintain, but I remain motivated just because I have never felt so good and so healthy as I have the last 10 yrs. Thank you soooooo much Dr.Vaughn. I feel better now than I did 10 or even 20 years ago. Great Job!!!! :) I just want to thank you for giving me a new lease on life :) Aleta

Dr. Vaughn is a very caring person. I liked him very much. The staff were great. My experience with this surgen and hospital were all positive. I am happy with my 100 lb lost to date. It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself, with their help. I would not be afraid to recommend him at all.

Dr. Vaughn is a great guy, he is very personable, very interested in my questions and concerns and seems every bit an expert on the subject. I can tell he has a lot of confidence in his ability and was very reassuring. I feel like I can trust him to do my surgery and that he will be involved in the post op care to make sure I am well off on my way to a better life. So far I have only met with him once on the consult, I will update more as I progress towards surgery and post op care.

Dr Vaughn tried to make light of such a serious situation. I appreciated that because I was so nervous about asking him so many personal questions.rnBy the end of the consultation I was completely sure that I was making the right decision and glad I am seeing him to do my surgery.

'Dr. Vaughn really knows what he's doing. He answered all my questions and really made me feel comfortable with the surgery. My recovery is going just great here at Barix and the rest of the staff is just awesome and willing to help with whatever they can. The only slightly negative thing I can say is that when Dr. Vaughn says your incision will only be four inches

My first impression of Dr. Vaughn was he knows his stuff and what he is doing. I knew the day I met him that I was going to be his patient for this course of having the surgery and then some. The staff was wonderful to me and very friendly, they know how to make someone feel very comfortable and I never felt humiliated at all. Aftercare is very important! He explained the risks very well, and I would highly recommend him to anyone! Surgical competence and beside banner were as I expected, just wonderful! I can't forget his appearance either, ooohweeee! HOT! lol.

I was well aware of Dr. Vaughn due to the individuals I knew that had him for a surgeon. Once the intial consult was done I was positive of the surgeon and type of surgery I would have done. I also explained that this was my second application as I had been turned down in the past and he assured me that Barix Clinics would assist (cost free to me) to getting the approval and if legal steps where necessary Barix Clinics would be there for me. As was expected, the insurance company did turn me down, 3rd appeal was sent to Walter & Kelly Lindstrom, esq. of Obestity Law and Advocacy Center who took the case and approx. 6 months later it was approved. Two weeks after that I had surgery on 8/15/06 and haven't looked back. The confidence and experience for this situation is indescribable. Everyone has bad experiences with doctor's and hospitals and the dreaded insurance company but I would refer them to Dr. Vaughn and Barix Clinics in a hearbeat. Dealing with weight loss issues of this magnitude are hard enough but everything with them was as I had been told it would be and for that I am greatful.
The Barix Clinic Office was great. Everyone was so understanding. Staff themselves knew what was happening with you when you walked in because they themselves had been through the same thing . Barix Clinics had a whole program to follow that was easy to understand, question, and follow. I was aware of everything when I went in due to the amount of research I had done in the past but being able to ask questions and get an answer from a real live person just made me feel that I had done the right thing and picked the right people. When the surgery and program were explained to me they told me the actual truth of what would happen from the day of surgery to aftercare for the rest of my life. The most comfortable thing was that I could call and talk to someone at any time for questions or concerns which I still do now 7 months post-surgery. If they can't answer my question they find someone who can and get back to me. Sometimes follow-up takes a little longer than I would like but I do understand since I have "been there and done that" at the clinic.
For the seriousness of the procedure and the entire process from beginning to the end I have nothing bad to say. At this point, what happens is up to me. They helped me get a tool for weight loss that I can deal with and use on a regular basis, without worrying about life's up and downs. They have made a complicated issue easier to handle. They also did not make it me feel that I was a failure and for that I am forever greatful because they understood.
I could go on and on but bottom line I made a great decision with Dr. Vaughn and Barix Clinics and will recommend them to anyone that asks.
