I felt he had alot of knowledge and experience and that he was absolutely the one I wanted to go to but his bedside manner and one on one skills could have been better. What has changed is that as he has gotten to know me better and I him, he talks a little more and even jokes around alittle and I like him alot better than at first. His office staff is absolutely wonderful. They are there to help with and answer any questions you might have, any time of day or night. The thing is, is that they are so thorough in there teaching program that it leaves little left to ask, at least for me but I didn't have any complications either. They have a very complete aftercare program just as they do everything else. The Dr. and his staff were very upfront about the surgery risks. Overall, between him, his staff, and his program, I would give them a 9 out of 10. His bedside manner being the only negative and as I said that has gotten better but of the his competence and his manner, his competence is for sure the best of the two and his competence, I believe, can't be touched in this area!!! According to my scale at home, I had lost 90 lbs. at 42 weeks post surgery. I am at a plateau right now and trying to figure out what to do to get the weight coming off again. Matter of fact, I've been going to call the dietician and see what she suggests.

Dr. Harris is a quiet man of very few words. His staff is wonderful.

I really liked Dr. Harris when I met him at the first seminar. He was serious about the procedure and the possible complications, gave reasoning for being obese, and most of all, his experience with his WLS. His staff is very kind and caring, and they make you feel like you are their only patient. They all take the time to answer any questions you may have, and they do a awesome job preparing your information for insurance approval.

I met with Dr. Harris initially for the seminar which was very informative. I then had my consultation, he was very matter of fact, he didn't chit-chat a whole lot, but answered my questions. Dr. Harris is very informed and extremely cautious and I have 100% faith in him as a surgeon.

When I first met Dr. Harris it was at a semenar about the surgery, he told us about how he himself has had this done and how well it has worked for him. I thought that it was very helpfull to hear that becuase its easier to trust someone with your life when you know that they have been there and that they understand all the crap that you are gunna go through. He has changed alot since I first met him to now he is MUCH smaller. I think that before his surgery he looked like Santa, and now he looks like a cute little elf! I love him! haha He has done over 1,000 surgeries and I am pretty sure he could do it with his eyes closed but i hope he never does! haha He was on Discovery Health channel becuase he performed the surgery on a \"One Ton Man\" which was one of the first episodes that I saw of the surgery. The best part of Dr. Harris was that he came and saw me every day and not like just checked in for a couple seconds but really spent time with me and talked to me to make sure I understood EVERYTHING that he has just done to me! Overall on a scale of 1-10 I would give Dr. Harris a 20! He is Amazing!!!!!

Dr. Harris is an excellent surgeon. He did my open RNY, colonostomy, panniculectomy, hernia repair, xyphoid process resection and lysis of adhesions. I completely trust his skill and judgement. He also has an excellent staff. I am so happy with my life now. I feel great and owe a lot of that to Dr. Harris.

Dr. Harris might be more familiar to you than you think. He has been on the Discovery Health Channel program. The story is about the life of Patrick Duel who had Dr. Harris as his surgeon. Dr. Harris and his staff are very helpful in preparing you for this surgery. They have you attend a three to four hour inservice on what to expect from the beginning to the end of your surgery. Later you attend another three hour session with a dietitican who explains in detail about your hospital stay and what foods you'll be eating there after. The best part about the surgery was I didn't have any real pain to speak of. Two hours after surgery I was walking around the nurses station. To my surprise I went home without having to take pain pills. This was my own personal experience having surgery with Dr. Harris. Keep in mind that everyone has a different pain tolerance and your experiencernmight not reflect the same. I am not making statements about what other people may experience concerning any part of their surgery. This was my own impression of my personal experience with the surgery and not yours.

Dr Harris and his staff are very knowledgable on Gastric Bypass and I feel very comfortable about putting my life in their hands. He is straight and to the point. He isnt a man of many words but that is ok. He will answer your questions honestly and give you the facts. When you see Dr Harris you have to go thru lots of education. I feel like I know EVERYTHING i need to know after 3 days with the staff. Sheila, Kay and Kristin are GREAT!
