Dr. Weiss did both of my WLS. He is professional, but has a great bedside manner. He is very forthright and explains everything well. I love him, his office staff and the staff at Central Baptist Hospital. Everyone took great care of me.

I had the LapBand surgery December 27, 2010. Dr. G. Derek Weiss was my surgeon. He was absolutley awesome! I have nothing but good to say about the Bluegrass/Commonwealth Bariatric Team. Also the staff at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital were really great the morning of my surgery. The Bariatric Team are so informative and are there to help at anytime. They really stress the support group meetings and to call them with any questions. They don't just do the surgery and leave you hanging. This is a big help! It isn't time for me to go back to the doctor yet, but I am sure they will be as great as they have been. Lisa

First impression was very good. He seemed very knowledgeable and proud of what he does. I have only attended the info seminar and will write more after I have had more experience with him.

Dr. Weiss was really great to talk to, especially before the surgery. He cleared up some misconceptions that I had and put me at ease.

My whole experience with Bluegrass Baritrics has been A1.Dr Weiss is top notch as far as I am concerned. After surgery you will not see him most likely but staff will take good care of you. Dr.Weiss and staff is top of the line, You won't go wrong using Bluegrass Baritrics. I would like to see surgeon sometime in aftercare but that probably will not happen if things keep going well.

Dr. Weiss spoke at the siminar I went to and I found out today, Sept. 23, 08, he is my surgeon. I met with him one on one today and he is FABULOUS! Very personable and informative. I am most confident in him!rnrnI had my surgery with Dr. Weiss on October 2, 2008. I am very pleased with him. He is very caring. I had to stay overnight and he checked in on me the next morning. I am completely satisfied with him. I am thankful that he was my surgeon!!rnrnUpdate: July 13, 2009. I am having a revision today with Dr. Weiss. The band just didn't work for me. I am having RNY later today.

I was very impressed with Dr. Weiss. He was kind and sensitive to my need. He was very professional and thorough. His staff was very friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Weiss addressed the risks of surgery completely and asked if I had any questions or concerns. I would rate him as an excellent doctor and overall good person. I feel surgical competence and bedside manners were great.rnrnThe only thing possibly negative was that Dr. Weiss doesn't have time to do hospital visits after surgery.
