first impression- Dr. Meyers and his staff were very nice. He had great bedside manner. He is great when it comes to his patients.

My first impression of Dr. Meyers was "impeccable". My impression became more grounded as time went on through my pre-operative time.

Dr. Meyers'office staff promotes his "total program" involving nutrition, personal training and psychology. Aftercare is extremely emphasized and the support group meetings twice a month are utilized by the majority of patients (pre and post-op). Dr. Meyers regularly attends these support meetings.

All risks of the surgery are addressed on a one-on-one basis with each patient as her/his
comorbities are different than the next.

I rate Dr. Meyers a solid 10 out of 10.

Dr. Meyers surgical competence and bedside manner are both excellent. Tammi (his PA) also has a wonderful bedside manner and brings sunshine and comfort into the room when she also visits post-operatively.

Of all the pre-op seminars i attended, the one by Dr Meyer's staff was by far the best; both in terms of information given and also in terms of opportunity to ask questions.

Dr Meyers is GREAT. Extremely competent and also very caring. Wonderful bedside manner.

Dr Meyers is a firm believer in after-care; so much so that when the monthly support group became too large for everyone to participate, he started a second group.
He also strongly encourages psych support, which is good; you don't do something this life-altering without there being at least some negative effects and/or changes to adjust to.

It'd be best if you don't already have any of the pre-op testing done ahead of time; they prefer to do it all themselves, but they will work with you if you did have some tests done by other docs.

I WORKED WITH DR MEYERS IN A PROFESSIONAL CAPACITY. HE IS AN EXCELLENT LAPARSCOPIC SURGEON. SO WHEN I FOUND OUT HE WAS DOING LAPARSCOPIC RNY IS SAID SIGN ME UP. I SOON FOUND OUT THAT MY INSURANCE DIDN'T PAY A DIME TOWARDS THE SURGERY. I BECAME MORE IMPRESSED WHEN I SAW AND PRATICIPATED IN HIS SMALL GROUP SESSIONS AND FOUND OUT MORE ABOUT HIS TOTAL PACKAGE GEARED TOWARDS MAXIMIZING YOUR WEIGHT LOSS. DR MEYERS GIVES YOU TOOL AND THE REST IS YOUR DECISION WITH PROPER CHOICES AND EXCERCISING. hIS OFFICE STAFF WORK HARD TOWARDS GETTING YOUR SURGERY APPROVE AND WORK EVEN HARDER TO KEEP A VERY BUSY OFFICE RUNNING SMOOTHLY. LYNN KNOWS HER STUFF. GIOVANNI WHAT A SWEETHEART. ALWAYS WITH A SMILE WHEN HE ANSWERS THE PHONE. (YES YOU CAN HEAR HIS SMILE IN HIS VOICE). TAMMY I HAVE NOT WORKED A LOT WITH BUT SURE IS SWEET. OF COURSE WE CAN'T FORGET RUTH. NO MATTER HOW MANY QUESTIONS OR HOW DUMB THE QUESTION WERE SHE ALWAYS ANSWERED PATIENTLY WITH A SMILE. i THINK THE ONLY THING I WOULD SAY I DON'T LIKE ABOUT DR MEYERS OFFICE IS NOTHING! HIS EMPHASIZES AFTERCARE AS MUCH AS SURGEY AS A TOOL. THE RISK OF SURGERY IS TOLD AS WELL WRITTEN. YOU SURELY CAN'T FORGET THEM. HE IS VERY OPEN IF HE HAD ANY COMPLICATIONS. I RATE HIM AND HIS STAFF A 9 OUT OF 10. I ALWAYS LEAVE ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. SO IF HE IMPROVES HE'LL BE ABOVE A 10. DR MEYERS HAS BOTH THE SKILL AND BEDSIDE MANNER. BOTH IN ONE SURGEON. RARE

I met Dr. Meyers today, May 7, 2004. I think that he is very insightful and think he does know what he is talking about and during the long consultation today I learned lots of new things. I am very happy with my choice so far. I think that his office is very organized and gets you as prepared as possible for what all you are going to have to do. He is willing to talk with you one on one as much as you want and all the nurses seem to really know what they are talking about and know what they are doing. This is the one and only day I have ever seen or talked to Dr. Meyers but so far he seems like he truly does care and does not want you to be in the dark about anything. I like that he requires us to go to at least one support meeting and he offers them as often as every 1st and 3rd Monday. I really like the idea of that and I can't wait to go to one.

My first impression of Dr. Meyers was he looks like one of thos fake "fatherly type" doctors on TV. But as soon as he started to speak I realized "OK, this guy knows what he's talking about." I also appreciated that he didn't try to sugar-coat the risks. He was very straight-forward. His office staff is very nice, and for the most part helpful as well. I really appreciate the efforts of Dr. Meyers, Ruth, Giovanni, and especially Lynn. I can't really think of anything about Dr. Meyers himself that I didn't like. He really emphasized that WLS is a tool more than anything. It will greatly improve my chances for sucess, but if I don't follow the rules, I could cause myself to fail. He also was very careful to explain all the risks (including the fact that you can die during or after surgery) and all the precautions he was taking to prevent complications. On a scale of one to ten (ten being the best), I would rate Dr. Myers and his staff a solid 8. I would say Dr. Myers is an extremely confident surgeon who has a great bedside manner. He always made me feel comfortable and always explained what was about to happen next. Honestly, my experience with him has been great. I would definitely recommend him to others.

I cannot think of enough nice things to say about Dr. Meyers, I found him to be a caring and very skilled surgeon. His office staff was always friendly and helpful. What I liked most about him was his down to earth attitude and he was very easy to talk to.
I am looking forward to attending his support group meeting that are once a month. He really thinks it is important that his patients attend. He is always there too.
I think I would recommend Dr. Meyers to anyone that is considering WLS

I met with Dr Meyers and his staff for the first time early March 2003. He impressed me as and gained my trust. I attended several support group meetings prior to my surgery and my trust improved each time. His office staff was and is nothing but helpful on all issues concerning surgery and aftercare. Followup care is aces with me for it answered all my questions, some, before I had them. All risks were explained and questions addressed with care and concern. I refer everyone who asks to him, however, I believe everyone should do their own research.

I have been an RN for 10 years in ICU/ER. I met Dr Meyers 4-5 years ago while taking care of his patients. At that time I noticed that he was one of the few surgeons who rarely had patient's admitted to the ICU (that's a good thing) and when he did how thorough and knowledgeable he is. He earned my respect early on which is pretty tough for a Critical care nurse. About 1 1/2 years ago, I heard a rumor that he was starting to do Bariatric surgery. I was so excited because I knew other surgeons who were already doing it but their reputations in the nursing community weren't all that great and I didn't trust them with my life. I immediately made an appointment to see him in his office. He is very straight forward, honest, and to the point which I really appreciate. Everyone in the office has been really kind (even when I was calling them every week and worrying the devil out of them). He does really stress the importance of follow up care & support group meetings which they offer monthly. I have watched these support group meetings grow from 20 people to now over 100. I am happy to report that I don't have anything negative to say. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are awesome!!!

I met with Dr Meyers & the gang on January 2nd. After listening to the consultation and having all my questions answered, I decided this is for me. I found Ruth, Giovanni, Lynn, and of course Dr Meyers very caring and informative. They encourage you to attend the monthly group sessions and let me tell you - they're very enlightening. It was great to meet with all the post op people as well as the pre op and to have questions about everyday life answered.
