Dr Pearce is no longer doing RNY surgeries. I was very dissappointed when I found out. I needed follow up care, after having some health related issues, and was told to go elsewhere. They had a surgery center, but it has closed too. All I could do was get my papers sent to me so I can find someone to give me medical attention.

I had worked with Dr Pearce in 1980 as a nurse in surgery doing gastric bypasses then.rnHe was good then and wonderful now.rnI had exellent care pre and post op. I lost 146 lbs and feel great. My sister (who lives in Houston Tx) had surgery in Nov 2005 by Dr Pearce and has lost 80 lbs.

I was referred to Dr. Pearce by a co-worker of my husbands. I first went to a seminar and talked to him afterward. He patted me on the shoulder and told me he would take good care of me. He has so much experience I had no doubts about his doing my surgery. I had no complications and feel that I was very fortunate to have Dr. Pearce. Kenny handled my insurance BCBS Federal and within six weeks I had surgery. He is so gentle and really makes you feel like he cares about you. I waited for years to have gastric bypass and I couldn't of had a better surgeon! He gladly answered my questions and I felt safe in his hands. The rest of the staff was friendly. All in all I am very happy with my choice of using Dr. Pearce!

Dr. Pearce is very personable and knowledgable. I felt very comfortable with him immediately. He has many years of experience and it shows. His staff has been wonderful even though I have been a pain in the butt.

Dr. Pearce is the surgeon doing my wife's surgery. I decided that if he was good enough for her, he would be good enough for me... I do have to say that I am impressed with his surgical record.

My first impression of Dr Pearce was that he is very caring and he wanted to help me. I still belive he is caring and wants to help me, but now when I go in I see the PA, who is also very caring and wants to help me and is happy for me when I have lost weight. I feel like his office staff is not the same. I called one day about a rash and the nurse started laughing and I asked her what was so funny and she said she was laughing at something else. I thought it was rude. ALso I have waited and waited on hold for long periods of time and one day I called for 3 hours straight and the line was busy. That was before surgery and I thought OMG! what if I have surgery and somehow my pouch busts open and I need to speak to the doctor and I can't get through. I don't live near the hospital and I would have to go to one where I live and they may not be familair with this and OMG! These are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience. Now I am just glad I did it and I think maybe I could have made a better choice but everything turned out ok so far. Dr Pearce is great when it comes to surgical competence and his bedside manner is good too.

I had heard only good things about Dr. Pearce from my sister, who had surgery with him about a year ago, from a good friend who had surgery with him about two years ago, and then on many different forums and chat groups.

I have great confidence in Dr. Pearce, due to his extensive experience in doing bariatric surgery (since the '60s) and especially with doing revisions from the VBG to the RNY.

His staff is very friendly and professional - no complaints at all!

Dr. Pearce demands quite a few pre-surgery tests: psychiatric evaluation, esophageal scope (maybe only for VBG revisions?), ultrasound of legs, chest x-ray, ultrasound on heart and EKG, blood gas test (and maybe some others that I've forgotten).

I definitely chose Dr. Pearce because I trust his experience, skill and ability, but he has a very good bedside manner, too!

The only slight negative I have to say is that Dr. Pearce is probably in his 70s, although he doesn't look it... and he is retiring at the end of this year. If you want him to do your surgery, better call today! :-)

Dr. Pearce is wonderful. He's been doing bariatric surgery for about 30 years. I totally trusted him and he did a great job with me. He is very caring and understanding about what it's like to live as an obese person. He took about 45 minutes to talk to me and answered all my questions.

Dr. Pearce was very professional during our first meeting which was scheduled about 1 week prior to surgery. He answered all my questions regarding risks vs. benefits. The next time I saw him was in the hospital just prior to surgery. He and his assistant Joe did an excellent job on my surgery and I have nothing but praise for the actual surgery. If I have any complaint it is that I only saw Dr. Pearce those 2 times. All of my aftercare/follow-up appts have been with Joe, Dr. Pearce's assistant. Joe is great and has a wonderful bedside manner, but I would have thought that Dr. Pearce would have wanted to see me at least once after surgery.

Kenny is the liaison between the insurance companies, the doctors office and the patients. He is outstanding. He makes sures all pre-op appts are made and kept. He also follows up to be sure everything in on the up and up prior to going to surgery. Dr. Pearce is lucky to have him on his staff.

I would rate Dr. Pearce very highly as a bariatric surgeon who keeps an extremely professional and knowledgeable staff.

I feel like I recd the surgical competence from Dr.Pearce and the great bedside manner from Joe.
