I have appointment with Dr Jack Bergstein on Feb 21st 2002. I am very excited. I have searched web site and he has excellent reviews from patients. Will update after my consult visit. Dr Bergsteins office notified me that he was out of town 2-21 and they changed my apt, Now apt. not until April 4, 2002.

I haven't met Dr. Bergstein yet. I may not. I was referred to him by a surgeon who believed Dr. Bergstein would perform laproscopic weight loss surgery. I found out today that Dr. Bergstein uses the Open RNY procedure rather than the laproscopic procedure. His office confirmed that he does not perform the lap surgery. I am trying to decide whether to cancel my appointment on 1/10/02 or not. My current surgeon feels the risk of open surgery may be too great for me. So, I am not sure what to do now.

Well when I first started this sdbventure I was nervous. I thought I was going to have problems with my insurance cause so many people have. I actually got apprved right away as soon as they got the letter from my doctor. He was very helpful also in explaining things to me. I am still very nervous and hope all goes well.. My surgery date is scheduled for Oct. 10, 2001 ..

My first visit with DR. Bergstein was not actually my first impression. I got the priviledge of seeing him in action first hand with my sister Marilyn Childers. He is an excellent surgeon who is caring, honest, and upfront with me. I also like the fact that he welcomes email from his patients and answers ASAP. He took my sister through her surgery just fine and that says it all for his skills and my trust in him. I have nothing negative to say about him at all.

I am now five months postop and Dr. Bergstein continues to support and give me encouragement at every visit. I would reccommend him to anyone looking for a skilled professional that has a human side also and is very caring but honest.

My first impression of Dr. Bergstein was that he is very busy. He was also really nice. He seems so concerned and wants to help us. His staff is great too! His secretary and his nurse were both very patient with my questions and helped me get approval as quickly as possible. Sue Collins, his nurse was also very helpful post-op with questions I had. I would email her and she would get back to me within 24 hrs. I would rate Dr. Bergstein a 9 on a scale from 1-10.

I really liked Dr. Bergstein. He was efficient and knowledgeable, and I felt confident putting my life into his hands. He and his staff went the extra mile to help me meet the requirements for my insurance's approval for the surgery. They were great, and really held my hand through the whole surgery and recovery process. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering the surgery.

I feel very confident and secure with Dr. Bergstein. He has been completely straight forward in letting me know EXACTLY what is going to happen. He is very professional. His staff has been kind and helpful. At first, I thought he wasn't that friendly.. but i know he is there to let me know everything that might happen and will happen. I respect his complete honesty and bluntness. I now know that is isn't lack of freindliness, it is suburb professionalism.

Dr. Bergstein and his staff has gone over the steps with me from pre-op to post-op. They have been a tremendous support group.
