I came to Dr.Kemmerling's office for the consultation and was pleased that it was Dr. K who talked to me. Not a nurse or P.A. I saw many people after for various tests and procedures but my first contact was with the Physician who would perform my surgery.rnrnHe was very serious, which was fine with me because what I was contemplating was a very serious step.Dr. K emphasized the risks of the surgery and did not encourage me to choose one type of surgery over another. He gave me a lot of information and then asked me what I thought I wanted and why.rnrnrnI felt so cared for while I was in the hospital. I didn't feel like I was rushed to recover and get out of the way for the next surgery patient.rnrnHis office staff was very helpful and encouraging.rnrnI felt the follow up after the surgery the first year was excellent. rnrnOne of the the things that was very reasurring was his practice's stated mission of seeking Christ's healing for his patients. I felt God had lead me to his practice and I felt myself letting go of a lot of worry about the outcome.rn

I first saw Dr. Kemmerling in Janurary of 2007. I first impression of him was he was a very caring man. I started my journey with the help of Mary to get the insurance approval. Mary was great. I can say I only had positive results from this surgery, my surgery was August 9, 2007, to date May 6, 2008 I have 121 pounds off. By loosing the weight it has taken care of all my medical problems, I no longer need to be on any prescriptions. Dr. Kemmerling went through all the risks of the surgery before hand. I only had a positive expierence with Dr. Kemmerling.

He was very nice and understanding, I actually came to him for a second opinion I was scheduled to have the surgery in Marquette and changed my mind once I spent time with him. He answered every one of my questions that I had and spend quite a bit of individual time with me. He defiently made sure that I understood the procedure since I came down to look at having the lap band since the surgeon in Marquette didn't offer it yet.

I have the information packet on its way. I would like to be on the way to a better life by March of 2006.rnrnMarch 29th is my 1st appointment.rnHere it was \"The Day\" It went great. I got there early and walked around the grounds of the Hospital. Dr. Kemmerling was very nice and went over both kinds of surgeries and was willing to answer any questions. Smilled alot and treated me with respect and never looked down on me for my weight. My Husband went with and he really likes him too. I must say that this is not a small decision to make but it helps to have a doctor like Dr. Kemmerling on your team.rnAfter 6 months of monitored diet/exercise I was denied due to a weightloss while on the diet. Go figure.. The weight came back and I appealed and was approved but still waiting on a September date.

My first impressions of Dr Kemmerling & his bariatric staff were great. I have had my initial consult & felt extremely at ease, had so much information given to me about the procedure, insurance and approval processes, aftercare, etc. So far I'd give them an \"9\" on a scale of one to ten. Only because, in my opinion, they were very busy & my coordinator is sometimes hard to get ahold of on the phone. I believe otherwise they seem to be striving to do everything they can to help their patients at every step of their weight-loss journey

Dr. Kemmerling and all the staff are a delight to work with. I thought I would be traumatized by going into a clinic to actually admit that I was \"obese\", but Dr. Kemmerling and Mary both treated me like I was just as important as anyone else. Mary continued to support me through the insurance battle and applauded me when I actually got the insurance company to change their minds with a letter. Their professionalism has truly been wonderful and has made this whole experience alot less painful that I thought it would be. I am scheduled for surgery next week.

Dr Kemmerling has a great office staff. Mary is the greatest there and always willing to help as they all are but if you have a call into her or an email she is there to talk with you right away. She has helped me greatly in this journey! I would recommend anyone to Dr Kemmerling. He told me like it was and what I needed to do pre-op & post and I like that vs. beating around the bush.

My impression of Dr. Kemmerling was that he chose this line of surgery because he really does want to help people. He seemed both very serious and empathetic when speaking with me which I found impressive. The surgery is a very serious choice so I appreciated the seriousness he gave but he also understood that my weight has been a struggle most of my life. My impression of both the doctor and his staff is that they really are there to help and listen. Mary E. the doctor's \"bariatric coordinator\" has been nothing short of wonderful. I can say there wasn't anything about Dr. Kemmerling that I didn't like he is very structured and has a great aftercare program which is why my family doctor chose him to begin with. He addressed the surgery in a seminar and answered any questions I had with sincere knowledge. He addressed the risks very well and in a very serious manner which again is what I would expect out of a good doctor/surgeon. I can't say anything about bedside manner yet as I didn't have the surgery but I couldn't ask for a better surgeon to trust my life with. (I am making no statements about what other people may experience these were only my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements of what other people may experience. I personally am confident with my choice of surgeon and practice!)
