James Ku Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr Ku is a great surgeon., my surgery was text book with no complications. I recovered extremely well. The office staff at The Weight Management Center have been great, everyone is friendly and is there to answer questions. Dr Ku is very down to business. Would recommend to anyone looking to have surgery. Has been the best decision I have made for myself in a long time.

I heard alot about Dr. Ku even before I made my decision to have lap band. There are alot of people in my area that he did lapband on. My daughter worked with a woman who went to Dr. Ku and my husband works with a woman who also had him as her surgeon and everything is going great with her. I figured I was going to end up going to him anyway because he is in the hospital where my specialty doctors are and I trust that hospital. When I had my consult, he was so down to Earth and took his time and talked to my husband and I about what to expect and the procedure. He was someone that I knew right away that I would definately want to be my surgeon. I felt comfortable.
I ony wish things did not take sooo long to get to the surgery day, but I totally understand why!!

I took my daughter to Dr. Goodman because her doctor in PA made a mistake with her gastric bypass surgery. She was basically starving to death. She could not walk, she could not keep anything down. Not even water. This went on for about 2 months before I found Dr. Goodman. He is the most wonderful doctor I have met. He is brilliant. When I spoke to him on the phone and described to him what she was going thru, he knew exactly what was going on before ever even meeting her. He was very concerned. There were insurance issues that he fought with them about. I am so thankful for him. I would advice anyone to go to Dr. Goodman. No matter how far you have to travel. If he did the Lap Band, I would go to him.

My first impression of Dr. Ku was a positive one. He demonstrated a sense of confidence and intelligence. He performed a gastric bypass lapryoscopic style on my husband and did a wonderful job.rnHis office staff are professional and courteous and keep in contact each step of my procedure.rnPatients who select him should know he is totally dedicated with his patients and does his absolute best during surgery. He speaks directly with family memebers after the surgery is performed.rnAftercare is emphasized emphatically. There is an extensive list of aftercare in which the individual must abide by or there are consequences. rnRisks are stressed and not ignored. Each question was addressed and the truth was told on his experiences.Successes and failures rnI rated him highly. rnBoth surgical competence and bedside manner is neccessary and are great together.

Dr. Ku is wonderful I would recommend him to anyone he is so down to earth and just the best. He speaks to you like a regular person. And whenever you have a question he always takes the time to explain everything to you.

I liked Dr. Ku the instant I met him. He is aggressive in his treatment and takes the individual patient needs into consideration. I felt that I was properly prepared for surgery and was in great hands. I would never hesitate to recommend Dr. Ku to anyone considering this surgery.

I think from what I have seen of Dr Ku so far he is a great guy and well trained surgeon and thats all I can say til I actually go under this week rnrnFollow Up: rn3yrs post op and I still think Dr Ku is an awesome surgeon and friend.
