Dr Ku was very nice and very helpful. He seemed to be very softspoken and just a bit shy. I saw him on a local information/community channel last night and when I told him he seemed kind of like \"aw shucks\". He was very knowledgable and answered my questions straightforwardly. He did let me know that he does not do a lot of the folllow up office work leaving it to his team but that was fine with me. Everone I have talked to there has been very nice and knowledgeable and very helpful. I had my surgery with Dr. Ku on 4/23 he came in to see me every day I was in the hospital and I was soooo very happy with everything. I have had hardly any pain the whole time since surgery and I would recommend Dr. Ku to anyone thinking about Gastric Bypass.
Dr. Ku has been, so far, the most professional, thorough and nice doctor I've ever met. Since my Pre-Op visit, he was very patient while answering all of my concerns and my husband's also.rnrnI would recommend Dr. Ku to anyone who decides to get this surgery. He is amazing. The personnel at the Weight Management Center makes you feel like family. They are all so nice and helpful, its amazing.rnrnAfter my surgery, Dr.Ku spoke to my husband (who was very nervous) and explained to him all that went thru and assured him everything went perfect.... and it did !!!rnrnHe is really knowledgable in his area of expertise and for every question you may have, he will most definitely have an answer. I felt much more comfortable and at ease once I met him. rnrnDefinitely, he gets 10 out of 10 from me !!!
I met Dr. Ku at a WL surgery seminar and i was very impressed with what he had to say, he answered questions no matter how strange they might of sounded. After the seminar i knew that he was the one i wanted to do my surgery. rnHe has a very caring staff in his office, i am always comfortable when i go there.rnHis PA-C Stacey is wonderful also. She answered any questions i had and seemed to understand how i was feeling before, during and after.rnI couldn't of asked for a better surgeon than Dr. Ku. He knows what he's doing, an excellent and knowledgable sugeon. I had lap RNY and am doing great, i never had to use pain meds when i got home.rnI would recomend Dr. Ku to anyone having this surgery.
From the first time I met him and we talked I had toal confidence in him. He had started out as a Trauma surgeon and his has a great personality. Every on ethat I have been around in his office has been very pleasant. to try to answeer these questions Ther is nothing I have foudnthat I don't like about him. He is really up to date an allthe new advances in the bariatric surgery and a structured post op care. He did go over the risks associated with the surgery, but by the time I got to talking to him all the research had been done. I would rate him a 10 on 10. He is very knowledgeable andhas a terrific bedside manner. The only thing is he has left Hershey Medical center and moved on to Reading Hospital were he is the director.
At the first pre-op consult, Dr. Ku was very nice and helpful with information. However, his bedside manner in the hospital was not very good. First, I didn't even see him after the surgery until the 2nd day and it was for (literally) about 20 seconds. Then he visited me on the day he discharged me. During this visit, he told me he was sending me home because I was ready, and because the hospital needed the bed for more sick patients, and because he needed one less patient to round on. I am still upset about this. While I can understand his need to consider those factors, I do not like him bringing those to me as reasons to send me home. His bedside manner was terrible in the hospital.
Surgical competetance, thankfully, seems to be terrific, which is the reason I chose him. These are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience. I'm not making any statements about what other people may experience with Dr. Ku.
