Dr. Jamokay Taylor was my bariatric surgeon and I must say choosing him was the best decision I made during my entire process. My first impression of him was that he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I was also struck by how easy on the eyes he was! lol. He took the time to explain the operations in detail and answered all of my questions in a way that was very simple to understand. I had been to other bariatric seminars before and sometimes felt rushed or as though I didn't have enough one on one time with the actual surgeon. But that wasn't the case with Dr. Taylor. His presentation was by far the most informative and easy to digest, and he was immediately available to address all of my questions and concerns. I especially liked the fact that he only performs bariatric surgery and that his hospital is a bariatric hospital specializing exclusively in bariatric surgery.....nothing else.
Dr. Taylor was very compassionate and had a relaxed assurance that left me feeling completely confident in his ability to perform my gastric sleeve and take care of me afterwards. I knew I had made the right decision after my initial consultation. I had surgery about a month ago and I feel great! The staff at Warrenton Weight Loss Institute was extremely professional and courteous. The whole process from the very beginning was straight forward and easy, and I didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to have surgery. When I was in the hospital I was well taken care of and the nurses were very friendly and addressed my needs quickly. The aftercare has been very organized and thorough. I rate Dr. Jamokay Taylor and the staff at Warrenton Weight Loss Institute a 10/10 and I highly recommend him to anyone considering bariatric surgery.

I have had the most wonderful experience with Dr. Taylor and Barix Clinic. My first procedure had to be aborted because my liver was too enlarged to get around. Dr. Taylor and Barix Clinic teamed up and helped me lose enough weight that my surgery was able to be performed.

He had exceptional bedside manner and is VERY compassionate. His work is meticulous and I would trust him with my life.

My husband and I are planning to have his/her RNYs as soon as we complete all of the preparation steps. We attended an initial consultation on March 19th with Dr. Taylor at Barix in Ypsilanti. We immediately felt very comfortable and safe with Dr. Taylor and with the staff there. He demonstrated excellent teaching skills and we came away knowing just what to expect. We can't wait to take the next steps.

An update after surgery: Dr. Taylor was very kind and skillful. I'd recommend him to anyone.

I met Dr. Taylor 04/10/09 when I went for my initial consultation for gastric by pass surgery. The information session was basic and covered most of the information that is available here on OH. I met him one on one after the info session and he was open to questions but I really did not have any at that time as most of the ones I had were answered online but I will have a list ready for more specific to my care closer to surgery that will be more directed to his support staff who have been extremely helpful with information already. I am currently waiting for my surgery date and feel very comfortable thus far with Dr. Taylor and the staff at Barix Clinic.
