Javier De La Garza Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I met my surgeon, Dr Javier de la Garza on the morning of my surgery! He was fun loving, kind and very informative. I instantly felt comfortable with him. He answered any of the questions I had and then took me into surgery. His assistant Veronica has been amazing thru this entire process. She always promptly answered all of my questions pre-op, either via email or phone. I know I could always turn to her for advise. Dr de la Garza is very interested in your aftercare program and works with me very closely, along with a nutritionist to make sure that things are going smoothly as they need to be.rnI can't express enough gratitude to my Doctor, and his entire staff...the people at OCA Hospital here in Monterrey have been amazing. And the facilities are wonderful. I would HIGHLY suggest anyone using Dr de la Garza and the OCA Hospital facilities.

I am so happy that I chose to go through Lite N Free for my WLS and the great Dr De La Garza. I was so very impressed from the very beginning with the patient coordinator Stephanie. What a great friend she has become. Dr De La Garza was very informative and answered all my questions. I wish I had known a little Spanish when I went there but the rest of the experience was absolutly awesome! They make you feel comfortable and at ease. Oca hospital is the cleanest hospital I have ever seen. The staff is wonderful in regards to instructions for follow up and there for you anytime you have questions even if you live halfway across the US. I had my first fill locally and then went back to Dr. De La Garza for the next fill. It was worth the trip. I will continue to go see him as I am that confident in him. He is very personable and truly cares about your success. The staff at the hospital is top notch. Lapband is no magic but it sure is a great tool to helping a person achieve the goal for permanent weight loss. I highly suggest Lite N Free and Dr De La Garza for anyone considering the lapband.

I thank God that my mom introduced me along with her friend to Dr DeLa Cruz Munoz. From the first time I heard him speak I liked him and felt safe and knew for a fact that if I wore to do the surgery I wanted him to do it. I just want to say, THANK YOU! to Dr De La Cruz Munoz for giving me a life I always wanted with his guidance I now have that life.

Ithought he was a great surgeon and he made me feel very comfortable with him :) I'd do it again in a heart beat. The staff were all great.rnApril 4th 2007 I am now 1 yr post op , I have lost 70 pounds in total and am no longer diabetic or have high blood pressure, thank you sooo much :-)

I met Dr. De La Garza last summer when my daughter has the wl surgery. He was very helpful and answered all of my questions. Since I am diabetic and have high blood pressure, Dr. De La Garza took special care with that.rnHe stresses that lap band surgery is not a miracle, but a tool to assist in weight loss. The patient must follow the diet and exercise.rnrnI felt very comfortable with Dr. De La Garza and the staff at OCA. Stephanie, the patient coordinator was wonderful.

I found Dr. De La Garza to be a warm and very caring person. He answered all my questions and did his best to calm any fears. He is an excellent surgeon and overcame my particular problems seemingly without much trouble. He was very easy to talk to and attempted to make the whole situation much easier. The hospital is very clean and the staff are all beautiful and friendly people. Language was the only real problem I had. I speak no Spanish but I also did not fully utilize the help that was offered by the doctor's assistant. She told me to call about anything I needed but I would have felt stupid calling her to ask how to order plain chicken broth so the problems I had were of my own stubborness. rnI can and do write his assistant if I have any questions about aftercare and she usually answers within minutes. If it is a question for the doctor she replies as soon as she can ask him. She has called to see how I am. Same with the nutritionist. She is available by email or phone and replies to emails immediately.rn I would and have recommended Dr. De Le Garza to anyone without reservation.

Dr. Javier de la Garza was polite and had a warm manner, he was very attentive and kind. I think he emphasized aftercare really well by giving me a guide to take home with me with step by step nutritional instructions. Dr. de la Garza constantly checks on you. Goes out of his way to make sure you’re not in pain.
My patient coordinator took care of all the details. She was polite, attentive and speaks perfect English. The nutritionist was very knowledgeable and gave me details instructions.

The hospital and the hotel facilities offered by Lite´n Free were spotless and modern. They were cleaner than any hospital in the U.S. and the staff was very much more friendly.
The expectations of quality and service that I had were completely met, that’s why I would recommend Lite´n Free, my surgeon and hospital to future patients.

Dr. Javier de la Garza is very confident in his procedures. He’s really caring , very genuine and attentive. I became more comfortable with him and the anesthesiologist after consulting me prior to surgery. Dr. de la Garza emphasized very strongly the importance of maintaining good eating habits. The nutritionist was very helpful as well.

In my opinion, Dr. de la Garza should be considered one of the best. He’s wonderful!
I would also like to add that my patient coordinator was very attentive and caring. She answered all of our questions.
The hospital is first class!! The U.S. hospitals should take notes. Very CLEAN and professional. I’m impressed. I would definitely recommend Lite `n Free.
