John K. Edoga Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I am very impressed with Dr. Edoga. He came highly recommended by another surgeon and others in the medical field. He originally brought gastric bypass to Morristown Memorial Hospital and trained several of the other surgeons that now perform this surgery there.

What I particularly like is that he is a general surgeon and handles "high risk" cases. His office is well run and he and Nancy, his nurse, spends sufficient time with the patient. This is not a "production line" kind of operation. I got a surgery date three weeks after I met with him as all my papers were in order.

While he asked if I had any questions, he did not spend a lot of time reviewing everything I had alreadly learned about the procedure.

I'm looking forward to working with Dr. Edoga and Nancy.

Dr Edoga is very professional .
He had time to listen and answer any questions you may have.
His staff is very helpful and polite.
He is very strict on your blood work and vitimins and protein levels.
He likes you to stay with him for at least 1 year then return to your general doctor or stay with him. Over all he was Great !!

I was impressed with Dr. Edoga. He came highly recommended as a skilled lapascopic surgeon. His staff is friendly, informative and caring. I go in April for my 3 months checkup. I am concerned since I'm with Aetna HMO, he will be dropping Aetna patients in May. I will need a referral from him or others in my area to another surgeon for followup care. Any suggestions?

DR.EDOGA IS GREAT! HE IS MILD MANNERED AND PATIENT. HOWEVER, HE IS A SURGEON BUT DOES NOT SPECIALIZE IN GASTRIC BYPASS. HE HAS THE MOST WONDERFUL OFFICE STAFF. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING MY SURGERY ON 12/9/02 IT WILL BE THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT I HAVE EVER HAD.

Dr. Edoga was wonderful. I had heard of him through 2 friends who are nurses at Morristown Memorial so I felt quite confident in choosing him as my surgeon even before I met him. His staff has been amazing and very accomodating. I would definitely refer him to anyone who is considering the surgery.

The program through Morristown Memorial is very structured because they want to see each patient suceed! They emphisize on aftercare and require 3-4 visits during the first year.

They thoroughly discussed the risks as well as positive and negative statistics.

After only meeting with him once, I rate Dr. Edoga an A+++. His professionalism is evident and his personality and bedside manner has left me totally prepared for my journey.

Dr. Edoga was the greatest. The fact that he brought this program to Morristown Memorial is testimony to his commitment and knowledge about this surgery. He is extremely thorough, and is very well respected. I had a complication-free Lap RNY, and I thank Dr. Edoga for that.

I first met Dr. Edoga on 11/3. I instantly liked him alot. I liked his personaltiy and felt he is the surgeon for me. There was no quality of the surgeon that I did not like. I have not had the surgery yet. that is December 20th. I can rate him after the surgery. So far I like him alot.

I am a hospital worker where Dr. Edoga has been on staff for many years. He is very caring individual and a wonderful surgeon.

When you are having gastric bypass surgery at this hospital - you go through the obesity center. You will meet with the staff there and start the progress of surgery. Plenty of paperwork to be filled out, testing, the insurance and so forth. Then you are on your way!

The risk for surgery were addresses. Only RNY surgery is offered at this time and the majority are done LAP. There is a structured aftercare program.

I thought Dr. Edoga was great!! Wonderful disposition and attitude, well spoken and explains things to you in english terms not dr. terms. Mary is the nurse that runs the clinic and is the most helpful person there. She took care of all my insurance and I didn't have to worry about a thing. If you have problems or questions she is always around to help you out. She also had the surgery done, so she knows where you are coming from and what you are thinking and feeling. Dr. Edoga is a well know surgeon. He is a general and vascular surgeon and a advanced laproscopic surgeon. Dr.s from all over the world come to watch and learn from him and his surgical techniques. He trained under Dr. Gonyea (sp) at Mt. Siani. I would recommend him and the Obesity Center at Morristown Memorial Hospital. :) I must also add that Dr. Edoga takes his time in what he is doing weather it be explaining things to you or operating on you. My insisions are closed from the inside out. I have no stiches or staples on the outside. I was so happy to hear this b/c that is WAY less scarring. I know it takes time to close up a person that way, then do it 5 times (that is how many insicions I have)!! I am just so damn happy with him, I can't explain it!!!!!!! :)
