Excellent Surgeon

Very great doctor and surgeon! Very helpful from beginning (pre-op) and still now. Tried years ago but denied (insurance reasons) and 3 years later I returned back to Dr. Regan because of his wonderful services and staff and was approved. I will always choose Dr. Regan and his staff first!

I am truly blessed to have Dr. Regan as my doctor. He is very straight forward and honest. I am the one who ultimately made the decision but he made sure that I had all the facts that would pertain to me and my surgery. I did have a few complications after I was released from the hospital but Dr. Regan and his Team made sure that I was good. I stand behind this decision 100% and I don't regret anything about it.

My weight loss journey to surgery took 6 years due to insurance issues etc. Throughout that time I worked with 2 other facilities before coming to Columbia-St. Mary's and Dr. Regan. The wait was meant to be. Dr. Regan and his team are the BEST thing I could have hoped for. I can not imagine having a better group of committed healthcare workers involved in my weight loss effort. I would reccommend them to anyone without a second's hesitation. They have given me my life back! Dr. Regan was very supportive and knowledgable. From the first time I met him I was comfortable with him and did not hesitate to ask him anything. I always knew he would give me an honest and sincere answer to my questions.

I would definitely give him10 stars if I could! Thank you, Dr. Regan!

I met Dr. Regan last year when he removed my gall bladder. He was really nice. I spoke with him then about the surgery. I didnt follow up with him. I guess I was not ready.
I contact his office Nov 1 and everything has been moving right along. The staff at his office is outstanding and supportive. I give him and his staff 5 stars. I recommend the Bariatric Center at Columbia St.Marys to anyone that is considering WLS in Wisconsin.

* What was your first impression of him/her?
Dr Regan is very professional and business like. Seemed very confident of his skills. This is a plus if you are putting your life in someone else's hands!

* How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
There is a session right before surgery to cover after care, as well as a binder of material for reference. Dr Regan encourages patients to participate in the support groups as well.

* How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
Risks were addressed appropriately.

* How would you rate him/her overall?
I would rate Dr Regan very high and I would recommend him to others.

* Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?
Surgical competence is the most important thing and you can't lose with Dr Regan. His bedside manner is business like and informative... no warm fuzzies, but that is not why I chose him!

I would like others to know Dr.Regan is someone you can talk to, ask as many questions as needed,and have a laugh with. When I first met him the impression was he really does CARE! The staff is the same way caring. I have and will continue to tell others of this excellent doctor and staff.


July 26,2010 was my surgery date. Dr. Regan came in a spoke with me before surgery to check on me if I had questions or concerns. He was great the second day I was in the hopital he came twice to talk and check on me. He explained everything to me.

Very serious, but through. My impression was here is a doctor who is going to help me with my journey. His office staff is awesome, from Dawn who schedules and gets you situated in a room, to Mari, one of the nurse, to Sue Dugan who is a one woman dynamo. If you are not willing to follow every step, you will not be successful, peroid. This is a very structured program. Dr Regan makes sure that you know all the risks and is available if there are any issues. Not many doctors will personally call you on a Saturday night if there are complications. He was very gentle and compassionate after surgery and I am just impressed with him. I could not ask for more.

My surgeon is amazing and genuine! I would recommend him and nurse Sue Dugan in a heartbeat; I absolutely have NO regrets for my bariatric decisions. I went to several \"seminars\" and when I attended C-SM, it solidified my decision. Dr. Regan has a very caring attitude about his patients and he makes himself available for questions; doesn't make you feel rushed for his time. He handled all my questions as if each one was important no matter how small. Dr. Regan even made a point to visit his patients while we were still in the hospital which speaks alot for his character; something you rarely see in my own experiences. I have no personal connection to Dr. Regan but I will always consider him a family member in my own heart. Thank you Dr. Regan for giving me this opportunity to reclaim a healthier life style! I am due to have surgery with Dr Regan on Monday March 9th. I immediately liked him. He walked in the room with a smile, shook my hand, asked me questions and listened to my answers. He is very friendly, and puts you at ease. He explained the surgery, had a lap band sample there for me to hold and look at. He checked the area where I had a couple of previous surgeries and explained that there may be scar tissue but he would work with that. He is the kind of Doctor that you instantly know he is the right one.
