I AM WITH ISOTOPE, TERRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE, MY SON HAD GONE TO DR STROM ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO, AND HE WAS WONDERFUL. I HAD MY SURGERY ON 6/30/15. FIRST OF ALL PUT IN A ROOM FOR OVER 4 HOURS, CAUSE EMERGENCIES WERE COMING IN WITH LAP BAND MISHAPS, THEN I FINALLY GO IN, WAKE UP, SPENT 2 NIGHTS, THEN A DIFFERENT DOCTOR CAME IN DONT KNOW HIS NAME, SENT ME HOME, SAID MAKE A 1 WEEK APPT, I DID OR TRIED TO, SINCE I WORK, I ASKED FOR A APPT AFTER 4 PM, WAS TOLD SORRY NO ONE HERE, I SAID YOU WERE SURE THERE BEFORE I HAD THE OPERATION, NOW NO ONE IS THERE, I GUESS THEY ALL TAKE THEIR VACATIONS SAME TIME, SO TODAY 7/30/15 I GET A CONCERNING LETTER STAMPED WITH DR STROMS NAME, SAYING WE HAVENT SEEN YOU YET, HOW CONCERNING. SO I SAID OK, LET ME CALL THEM AGAIN, WHICH I DID AND SURPRISE, I GUESS I AM A LUCKY PERSON, I GOT A APPT FOR 445 ON AUGUST 24, 2015 YES YOU ARE READING THAT RIGHT 2 MONTHS AFTER MY SURGERY, 2 MONTHS, NOT FOR NOTHING, I SURE HAVE A LOT OF CONCERNS ABOUT THINGS HAPPENING AND THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET CAUSE I GET TO READ ABOUT IT, CAUSE I SURE AS HELL CANT GET TO MY DOCTOR, WELL THE MAN WHO I THUOGHT WAS MY DR. THE MAN WHO OPERATED I HAVE NO IDEA THE NAME, SO WOULD I RECOMMEND DR STROM, HECK NO, UNLESS OF COURSE YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE A PIG FARM, GET THEM IN, CUT THEM UP, LET THEM LOSE, BUT FOR HUMANS, NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY,

i had my surgery done by Dr. Strom associate Dr. LeMaitre. He was amazing , the whole group is amazing from the beginning i felt so comfortable with them and they answered all of my questions and concerns. this was the best decision that i could have made for my life. I must have had an unusual experience because in reading the reviews on this page, I do not agree at all. I had my surgery in early January of 2014 and saw Dr. Strom for a minute before my surgery and then never again while in the hospital. I saw another doctor in his practice the second day and no doctor the third day before I was released.

In my opinion, his experience with surgery makes him great at getting around the rules, i.e. his scale adds 5 pounds and he has no problem extending a patient's short term disability even if it's not medically necessary. He's a nice enough guy, but won't offer information unless asked the right question. Even then, one would expect a surgeon to have advice on what is the most useful treatment for scars, which he did not have any opinion on.

Be prepared for your insurance to be billed close to $100K by Dr. Strom and his assistant surgeon Dr. Fresco. Keep in mind that this doesn't include the $30K that Mountainside bills, not to mention the anesthesiologist and other miscellaneous expenses. Also be advised that Dr. Fresco isn't in the same insurance network as Dr. Strom. I wasn't told that there would be an assistant surgeon, much less that she didn't participate in my insurance. Also be mindful that even with all of these monumental charges to your insurance company, that you will be crammed into the waiting area and able to overhear conversations of others about going to the welfare office.

This office feels more like a big business than a doctor's office, which made me feel like I was being shuffled in and out like cattle. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't choose Dr. Strom or Mountainside hospital.

I HAVE TO SAY I WAS REALLY IMPRESS WITH DR STORM STAFF VERY CARING FROM THE DOOR STILL THE SAME TILL TODAY HAD SURGERY ON SEPT 5 2012 WAS .

He is an awesome surgeon and his bedside manner and support is awesome!! I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Strom and his team of Doctors are wonderful. They're so informative and they care about the patients needs first. I would certainly recommend people interested in this surgery to check him out. They have forever changed my life and I'm very greatful.

My Frist Impression is that he is a very caring person and had very good bed side manner. He is a funny Dr. I really like him alot.

I was very impressed with the surgeron, he was concern with my wealthfare. I only dealt with him for the surgery,otherwise I deal with Dr, Reich of Manhawkin, NJ. They are out of Southern Ocean County Hospital in NJ.The staff there is great they answer any question you have and don't mind answer your calls over the phone. They are concern about you as a person. The aftercare is great. I see the doctor as well as the dieticain, They also have an exercise program at the hospital which is great. They also have a support group that meets once a month. The overall rating of them is great. I have no complaints with them, only my highest regards for them. They are there to really help you.

I was first nervous for my first appointment, but Dr Strom put me at ease. He is so nice. After first meeting him I knew he was the one to perform the lap-band. His staff are so attentive and so polite. All my questions were answered and felt comfortable enough to ask them. All the risks was explained to me. At the hospital I was met before the surgery by him and after by the assisting doctor Dr. Sylvia Fresco which I did meet before many times. I would definetly recommend Dr. Karl Strom and Syliva Fresco to my friends.
