Met him at a seminar. Very informative.

Has a funny side and a warm side as well.

A +

Nothing

He is willing to listen.

On a scale of 1 - 10, he emphasizes it a 20.

Yes, but the book isn't up to date.

Explained each risk individually.

Excellent

Both Great

I am only answering these questions based on the information I was given, and the contact I had with everyone.

There are volumes missing. The whole presentation does not lie to anyone. However, it does not give the emotional and psychological details of what this surgery does to a person.

I was not alone, I had God and my husband to be by my side to help me and support me. People who do not know God or do not have a spouse, relative or friend to help them could very well end up mentally unstable. It is very tormenting when your body moves ahead of your brain and the brain is fighting to catch up. This is no small matter and should be addressed.

Dr. Kole was great. Intelligent, very knowledgeable. I wouldn't have wanted any other surgeon but Dr. Kole.

I was very angry with Dr. Kole after our first inital meeting, only because he would not do the surgery unless I lost 60 pounds. However he was extremly patient with me and displayed concern about my mental health as well by having his staff calling me often and encouraging me while I was on the diet.
His staff is very encouraging as well. I like least about him is that he is very dry. Well at least to me. Future patients of his should no that he will never tell you anything that will hurt you. Even if you dont particulary want to hear it (like loosing weight before you can have the surgery). His aftercare program is very structured at the cori center. He was also very thourough about the risks that I was taking. He showed a video tape and spokeand answered questions at a seminar. Dr Kole and and at least 3 of the doctors at the cori centers came to check on me at the hospital. Excellent surgical competence. I had no use for my morphin pump after the surgery.
I am giving my own account with Dr. Kole and the Cori Center. Everyone experiences will be different. I rate him a 10. I am not making any reccommdation.

My 1st impression of him was that he seemed
very fit and professional.

The only thing that changed was how personable he was/is with me, He's real nice and seems to understand everything I'm going through.

His staff is nice. No complaints.

Hmmm.... I honestly can't say.

He's very honest and expects the same of his patients, and don't be embaressed about "gross" things to tell him! He's heard it all!

aftercare is one of the most important things to him I believe.

He was very honest he came right out and said the D word (death) but that there was less than 1/2% risk in that.He didn't pussyfoot.

I would give him the highest rating possible!

Both! like I said he's very personable and the morning of the surgery he seemed very excited for me and afterwards he was there to give me some instructions and check me out etc.

My first im pression of Dr kole was that he looked very young, He left a good impression he answered everyone questions, drew pictures, showed everyone about how big there scar would possibly be. He was very clear on everything risks and complications.

He seemed very young and arrogant/pompous.

He was very knowledgeable and confident and very able to answer my many questions.
Very nice and helpful.

No sense of humor at all.

I was in the waiting room for 1 and1/2 hours, then waited another hour in the room.
Haven't discussed it much yet.

I hope so/not sure yet. My first post-op appt. is tomorrow and I'll know more then.
Very much so.

Very knowledgable and competent.

I think both are very important but his surgical knowledge and competence far outweighed his bedside manner.

My first impression of Dr. Kole was a very secure on. There was just something about him, where I felt safe placing my life in his hands. He looks you in the eye, takes time with yu and doesn't make you feel ashamed for being where we are. the staff was very kind, proffesional and excited for me to make this important step in, my life.

At first I was upset because my consult was cancelled three times before I got to see him. However, once I met him I was very pleased he would be my suregon.

Dr. Kole is a wonderful doctor. He is very laid back and makes you feel comfortable from the very start. His office staff is very knowledgable, both Jen and Chuckie. Chuckie has been a great resource for me since she had the surgery in November of 2003. I've called her many times to make sure what I was feeling was normal.

There was nothing I liked least about Dr. Kole. He does emphasize aftercare. He addressed all my concerns about the risks involved in this surgery. He let me know that there are risks but they weren't as bad as all the things I had heard from other people. He also explained what they and what you can do to prevent most of the risks.

I feel he is a very competent surgeon and has a terrific bedside manner too. The best of both worlds.

My first impression of Dr. Kole was that he held himself with great respect. He was very kind and answered all my questions.
