Two years ago, I went through a life-changing event, suffering a mild stroke at only 25 years old. Weighing 565 pounds, I recognized that it was time to make a change, so she met with Dr. Kevin McGill of Piedmont Bariatrics.
“I only wish I’d undergone the procedure sooner,” “Being morbidly obese, I didn’t live my life to the fullest because I was tired and felt insecure. I truly feel like I owe Dr. McGill my life.”
Since my procedure, I have lost more than 300 pounds, I completed my Masters of Business Administration and created social media channels devoted to raising awareness about the benefits of weight loss and bariatrics. I hope to inspire more people to make positive changes in their lives, no matter how challenging it may be. Thank you Dr. McGill

I met Dr. McGill 12 weeks prior to surgery. He was so kind, I immediately felt comfortable with him. I felt like I could trust him from the very first time I met him. He did not give me the answers I liked, but gave me honest answers so I could make an informed decision. He did my surgery on March 18 and everything went exactly as I understood it would. I would recommend him to my friends and family. An Excellent surgeon!

Dr. McGill was exceptional from the start of my process and all the way through my surgery. He always listened to my questions and answer them with calmness and honesty. He was forthright in making sure I understood WLS is a tool. I can not say enough good things about him. The office staff was professional & My appointments were scheduled timely. Dr. McGill spoke with my husband prior to surgery...my husband had not been to any of the appointments with me. The doctor took the time to explain to him the surgery procedure and the aftercare I would require. I'm not saying Dr. McGill is "perfect" but I am saying that I did not have any negative experiences with him or his office staff. He came highly recommended to me and I plan to pay that forward. He's a quality doctor giving exceptional service!!!

Dr. McGill is such a great surgeon, his bedside manner is impeccable inpatient and outpatient which makes such a difference when you've had surgery and rely on his expertise. He listened to me when I just didn't feel so great and did whatever it took to help me through my tough times. I've gotten to a better place post op where I can see the benefits of choosing not only a great surgeon but a wonderful tool to starting over with a healthier body. Choosing Dr. McGill was a choice I would make all over again, I'd recommend him a thousand times! No regrets on choosing my surgeon :-)

Dr. McGill is one of the best doctors I have ever had. He is very caring, calm and soft spoken. He has never once made me"feel" fat or uncomfortable in any way. He works closely with the nutritionist Jackie and she is great as well. After my surgery he checked on me everyday that I was in the hospital and when I went for my first follow up he said he was glad to see me and that he always worries about us,the patients til he sees us. That meant a lot to me and I think he genuinely meant it. He told me I could call him at any time if I needed him or had a question for him. Fortunately,he and Jackie give such great packets of paperwork and a plan for after surgery I've not had to call him,but if I did I'm certain he'd answer. I would recommend him to anyone. Some of his staff have annoyed me a little, but that has nothing to do with him being a good doctor and everyone has their day, you know?! As far as getting approved, they handle paperwork awesomely! My paperwork was submitted and I heard back and was approved within 3 days!

Dr. Kevin McGill was one of the 2 surgeons for my VSG on 4/26/10. Due to changes in the practice, he has been my primary surgeon since 7/2010. I have found him to be extremely professional, caring, sof spoken and available as needed. In addition, he was instrumental in getting the support group meetings coordinated from his office.

In the year+ of visiting the office, I have had no problems with appointments, office staff, insurance or "customer service". In fact, the entire process has been a smooth road.

An added plus for the nutritionist, Jackie, who has gone above and beyond in assisting me.

Highly recommend.

Dr. Kevin McGill just did my By Pass surgery last Monday, May 23.at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

I had been approved two years prior and was seeing another Dr., But had things come up so that I couldn't go through with my surgery at that time. Things have just been on hold until I could get "back on track".

Dr. Gill came highly recommended to me, everything she told me about him, I felt as well in my first consolation, which was April 28th, 2011. Between Dr. Gill's office staff and me going to the other Dr. and getting what I needed, to resubmit the paperwork, my re-approval was done with 2 weeks. I went back in to see him for my second consultation on Monday May16th. did some pre-op paperwork and a week later on Monday May 23rd,

So for me from start with surgery it was a bit less than 3 1/2 weeks WITH pre approved insurance done.

I LOVE Dr. Kevin McGill and highly recommend him!

Wish me luck,

Kathleen

Dr. McGill performed my surgery on March 7th. I have lost 46 pounds as of May 12. He is both professional and kind. His bed side manner is the best I've ever experienced. He is gentle and soft spoken. The worst part was dealing with Aetna insurance and waiting for approval. Both Dr. McGill and his staff were very patient and guided me through the difficult insurance process. Jackie O his dietician was great and gave me a lot of good tips. I am doing great, not to mention that I have been heald of type II diabetes! I would recommend Dr. McGill and his staff to anyone.

I would caution anyone to be careful before using Kevin McGill. He was the assistant on my Realize Band surgery. My doctor left the practice and the practice (NASA at Piedmont) had no follow-up or explanation for that doctor's patients. McGill's front office staff is incompetent. My insurance changed so I became a cash patient. Wendy in the office would not or could not find out the cash rate and gave me a guess at $1700 a fill. When I questioned that being way more than double my doctor's price, Darren sent me information that they would take a cash payment only $400 dollars more than the previous rate - or almost an additional $800 if not paid that day. I had asked for my appointment to be moved and on the day of the fill, I called and they said that they had never changed my appointment because I didn't follow-up again after my call and agree to pay that amount. They said they I could still come at the appointment time but they needed my money first. I asked to speak to the doctor and he called me back. He said that he had five people before he would see me and I would just have to wait. When I told him I felt like I was being held hostage by him and his staff and asked for a referral to another practice that could give me long-term care, he hung up on me. Please look for a better choice in doctor and office before coming to Kevin McGill.
