Mason Jett Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.
My first impression of Dr. Jett is that he's friendly and tells it like it is. So far I've just seen him the one time and won't see him again until surgery. The first few times I called his office some of the clerks there (male) seemed like they were too busy to want to help me (took my name and number and promised someone would call back which didn't happened)but I persued it and got a hold of the ladies that run the office and they were really nice. What I would say that I like least about him is that I won't have a follow up visit before surgery, just to be sure everything is still medically ok. I'm not sure that Dr. Jett will be doing this surgery after next month, I think that's what his nurse told me when scheduling my surgery. It was 8 weeks before I got approval from my insurance and then it was because I had called the doctor's office and then the nurse called the insurance company that day and called me the next day to tell me I was approved. When I have gone thru with my surgery I will have more info on the overall experience.
I think Dr. Jett is very knowledgable about his work, he was very informative about the differences between the different types of surgeries that are offered these days and why the VBG was best for me. I still like Dr. Jett, he has always been professional, although a little gruff at times. His staff are very nice and informative. At your first appointment with him, you should prepare to bring a years worth of medical records from your private physician, bring a psychiatric evaluation if your insurance requires it (mine did), and be ready to watch his film that explains the difference between the different types of surgeries before you ever even meet with him. He will want to see you regularly after surgery. He would prefer to keep up with you long term if possible. I no longer have insurance to cover office visits so I have not followed up, but I do feel he was a great doctor, he took time to listen to me and address my needs. That meant a lot, especially post-op when my pain got out of control.
my first impression of him was that he was a nice man and had good bedside manners. I have only met him once so the second question I can not answer. his staff was Sooo helpful. they got the letter to my insurance and it was completed so quickly.
I didnt like the rectil exam.lol but I know that it was needed.lol what they should know is that what he told me...( I dont make models or movie stars...I save lives. that's why I am a doctor.) the Aftercare. he told me that we would be visiting each others for months and months...to make sure I am loseing weight and that I am healthly. well I think I answered that question about the aftercare program. risks of surgery...well you watch a movie that tells all about the surgery and the risk.and then he asks you if you have any quesions...serveral times..lol rateing him well I am ready to go. I know I am in good hands. and that IF IT IS MY TIME TO GO...WELL THAT IS IN GODS HANDS... God Bless all.
My first impression of Dr. Jett was very good and I thought that he was very professional. The next time I saw Dr. Jett was in the pre op room before surgery, 6 months later. In the hospital he seemed to be very well respected by the nurses and other staff. I really liked his office staff. He is very short and to the point but will answer all questions almost befor you have a chance to ask them. He is a Dr. that only does VBG but I feel like I have made the right choice.
I met with Dr. Jett on May 23. My first impression of him was fine. I was a little worried cause some reviews said he had a bad bedside manner, but I didn't have any problems with him. His staff was really nice. I came up from Lawton and Dr. Jett was running quite behind so one of the office girls gave us some directions to bricktown and I went down there to tour the area. It gave me time to calm my nerves. He was very clear on the possible risks after surgery. I also liked the fact that he made if very clear that success was up to me. Sometimes he talked to so much that it was hard for me to get my questions asked. But I think that that is just because he wants to be clear on everything that he is explaining.
Dr.Jett is nice and friendly person. He is quick and to the point, but if you need to ask any questions you need to be prepared to ask away while he is in your room because he is very quick with your physical, but the video you watch before your physical answered alot of my questions I had for him.His office staff is also very nice and helpful. I have called several times before my appointment and they answered all my questions in a very friendly and professional manner.
