Dr Schwartz gave me the greatest gift when he took out a chunk of my stomach! He performed a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy on me on July 18th, 2011. I knew I could lose weight if I just had HELP and this surgery was the help I needed. I am so grateful for his expertise and the no-nonsense approach he takes. He told me to lose weight before my surgery to prove I was serious and I did. He was firm that this was a TOOL and did not give me an illusions of magic but that if I worked, it would work. I have lost 113 pounds, feel amazing, have a normal BMI and healthy body fat % and I'm running, working out, eating healthy and feeling like a million bucks!! Everything went smoothly - his team is amazing, so professional, KIND, and most of all clear about the entire process from the beginning and ongoing. I had fast healing, minimal scarring, just the smoothest experience I could have imagined. I love going in for my yearly checkup and seeing everyone. My only regret - I didn't do it sooner!

Dr Schwartz is THE BEST!!! My surgery was April 18th and he did a great job. I would definitely recommend him and have to friends. He is thorough and very good at what he does. Piece of cake for me, probably not as easy for him. He had to remove my gallbladder also and poor thing had a lot of fat to get thru! :)

Dr. M. Schwartz is very perfessional with great bedside manner. He is amoung the best of the best with many years of experence. I work in the health care field and sevral doctors and nurses I spoke to advised me that if I went with him I would not have any problems pre or post op. Both him and his staff have been increadibaly informative. Not one time have I had a question that wasent answered before I asked. I fell he is a perfectionest which when it comes to surgery i think is a good thing, he is also honest! I would highly recomend him and his staff if you are considering bariartic surgery! Not only is he a bariatric surgen he is a patient so he knows what his patients are going through!!

He and his staff have been phenomenal thus far. I LOVE that he has had weight loss surgery himself and that his wife works in the office as well (she gives a great example and advice for those on the supporting end of this adventure). I had a previous bariatric group and am SO SO happy with my switch (there has been a handful of other patients in classes and support groups that have also switched from the other bariatric group to this one).

Doctor Schwartz is a great doctor. He gave me a target to meet (I beat it by 13 pounds) and if I meet it he gave me a 95% chance of laporscopic RNY which was what I wanted. On my first surgery date the anesthesiologist had problems with intubation and the only surgery Dr.Swartz could've preformed that day was open. He called off the surgery because he knew how hard I had worked to have a laposcopic procedure. Although I was disappointed that day I knew it was for the best. I had my laproscopic RNY Jan 12 and everything wnet perfectly:) He answered all my questions and even gives you his home number I couldn't of asked for anything more. I was referred to him by a friend and I would hope anyone I know having this procedure would use Dr. Schwartz.

October 2011 Down 220 pounds total 170 post op since Januarary. No side effects couldn't be happier.

THANK YOU
DR SCHWARTZ

Dr. Schwartz has been amazing, as well as his staff. They all do a wonderful job at educating their patients. They have a system that works. His professionalism and kindness are reflected in his phenomenal staff. In my initial consult, Dr. Schwartz completed a short assessment and then sat down to talk to me about the surgery I was interested in (RNY). He was very open, honest, and to the point. He answered my questions thoroughly and left the forum open for any additional questions I may have. The next time I saw him was the morning of my surgery. He introduced himself to my family, who also thought he was very kind and professional. Once my surgery was completed, he spoke with them and answered their questions. I had a small issue with a hematoma at one of my incision sites and went to the ER the night I was released from the hospital. I told the ER staff I wasn't going home until I knew what Dr. Schwartz thought. I trust him. That's the bottom line.

Right off the bat, I liked Dr. Schwartz. I trusted him, because he and his partner came so highly recommended. He spoke at my initial seminar and disclosed that he had a gastric bypass several years ago himself! In my initial surgical consultation he answered many questions and told me what I needed to complete in order to have the surgery. He was thorough and very helpful and patient with all my questions. rn Dr. Schwartz is very careful to have the best surgery possible. He prides himself on the success rate of WLS at Minneapolis Bariatric Clinic. He has every intention of keeping it a Center of Excellence for WLS. I think he is both a consummate professional and technically, and excellent surgeon. He is very personable, as well. Have both the surgical competence and the likable bedside manner are a rare combination. The program at the clinic is thorough as well, and I will be followed there for years to come.

I was impressed with Michael Schwartz the first time I met him. He was very easy going and non-judgemental. Those in his office worked hard to make sure they met all my needs while still holding me accountable for things I did or did not do. They are very easy going.rnrnI realize that a review of something that is all good is suspect, but to be honest I cannot, at this time, identify anything that was negative about my experience.rnrnAfter care was considered just as important, if not more important, as the surgery itself. It was made clear to me by the Dr. that it works only if I make it work.rnrnOn a scale from 1-10 I would have to give him a 10. I was even late for my surgery and he calmed my nerves and said it was just fine.rnrnBoth his bedside manner and surgical skills were good.

I really like my surgeon- he was very nice to me when I first met him and spent a good 45 minutes with me and answered all my questions. I really felt at ease with him and was especially impressed when he said to me \"I will do everything perfectly on my end. If you do what you are supposed to do, you will be 100% successful\" That was very reassuring to me especially because he speaks with experience. Not only has he been doing WLS for many decades, he also had RNY himself! I would reccomend him to ANYONE looking for a surgeon! And his office staff is amazing as well. Every time I call or come in, they treat me as though I am the only patient in the world. They are kind and considerate and always welcoming and I couldnt ask for nicer people to be on my team during this journey!
