This was such a big decision, but it is also SO OVERWHELMING. The Insurance DOES NOT Make it easy, but Dr Bertha and his Insurance Specialist, were there to help me understand and guide me.

Thanks to Dr Bertha and his Office Staff. I know I can be a 'Challenge" when it comes to seeing the positives in situations, but after much thinking I finally took the plunge and had gastric banding done in begining of 2012. SO My New Years Resolution was definitely to Get Healthy and Loose Weight! I just wanted anyone in the Northern New Jersey area thinking about bariatric surgery to be made aware of just how great Dr. Nicholas Bertha and his office staff are....I have been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember(as most of us on here have been) I knew that I was going to have to pay for my surgery out of pocket and let me tell you that Dr. Bertha and Sammie in his billing department were nothing short of a miracle team! Sammie was always available to answer any and all of my questions prior to my surgery(June 13, 2011) and was willing to help me in anyway to make sure that my surgery and went smooth! I had a bit of a billing issue after my surgery between the hospital and the anesthesia's office and both Dr. Bertha and Sammie really went above and beyond to fight for me, not only did Sammie calli both the Anesthesia's office as well as the Hospital when I was beyond frustrated, but Dr. Bertha also spoke to the board at the hospital to make sure my problem was solved in a timely manor, I can't tell you what an honor and a relief it was to have both of them do so much for me! I went from being so stressed out to feeling like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when the issue was resolved! I can't say enough about their professionalism, their pleasane dispositions and also to the way they resolved any and all issues extremely fast! I can't thank both of them enough for not only helping me give myself a chance at a better and healthier life, but doing it with a smile on their face and making me feel like I was the number 1 patient and priority! The Lap Band has been the best decision that I have made in my lifetime and the decision was only made easier knowing you can count on people like Dr. Bertha, Sammie and the rest of his office staff! I have had such a great experience with everything start to finish....Thanks for helping me change my life! I strongly recommend that anyone in the North Jersey area make an appointment with Dr. Bertha if you are considering weight loss surgery of any type!!

Thank you Dr. Bertha! Since my band in December I have lost 90 pounds. Truly life changing!

I had my band put in back in 2007. It's been a good thing as I'm much healthier even though I could stand to loose a few more pounds. I recently went back to set up a band adjustment to help me to get back on track.

Dr. Bertha is very to the point.... time to get focused and "Back to Basics", which is so true. I was very happy to see the New Band Center located right in the same building. So I was set up for an adjustment which I did today. It was fast, easy, no hassles with crowds or sick people.

Thank You Dr Bertha! Your encouragement is great and your group helps by making it simple to do what I need to do. Thanks for everything!

I have been a patient of Dr. Bertha's since 2008. I think he is excellent and he certainly helped to motivate me when I saw him for my yearly appt recently. I would have hoped to have lost more with my band, but at least it is still coming off . I was pleased to hear about the new Banding Center in the same building as his office and will be going there for my yearly swallow and and adjustment.

I spoke with someone in his office about the "Back to Basics" Approach and am hopeful with this renewed support I can get back on track and continue on my weight loss journey!

Dr Bertha is the best! My husband and I were very impressed that he took as much time as we needed and answered all our questions. This was the best decision I have made. I had my band put in 2 months ago and I'm already down 32 pounds and able to sit outside and enjoy this nice weather!
