I really like Dr C. He is straight forward and lets you know the reality of what you are going to do. Ann, his assistant, is great. She is always pleasant and responds to any of my questions quickly. The office gives you very detailed booklets in which I look at daily. It describes what to expect as far as your surgery, the diet, the wounds, name it it has it. It also gives you some all day food schedules...very nice. I think Dr C and his staff are wonderful...out of 10 he is a 9 1/2!!

My surgeon was very professional from our first conversation to our last meeting at my follow up appointment. He was very attentive when I had to go back to the Emergency Room for some monor complilcations, and gave me his cell phone number so that I could call him directly. I was very pleased, and would certainly recommed him.

His office staff are very efficient. I was a bit uncertain about my food choies after surgery, and when I tried to buy the food available at the office, they had a very limited selection to what they had advertised.

I live in Hawaii, so I knew going into the surgery that I would not have an intense aftercare program. I think he has a great program in San Fransisco.

I was told thouroughly about all the possible complications, and feel that I am very educated about the process. The post operative manual was very informative.

I rate him and his practive very highly. I felt very well taken care of by everyone involved in my procedure. Surgical Competence and bedside manner were great.

When I was finally sure that I was ready to do something about my weight, I called Dr.Cirangle's office and they said the Dr. would call by the end of the week and he did just that, as a matter of fact he called me on a Saturday afternoon. He answered all my questions and gave me his cell number to call if I had any further questions, and said he would send me a packet of tests I would need to have done before he got to Hawaii. I was so impressed with everything he said, that I called my mother who is a nurse and told her I felt good with my decision to have Dr. Cirangle perform my lapband surgery. Months later I met Dr. Cirangle face to face late the night before my surgery and again I was sure it was the right decision. He was kind, caring and asked me questions to make sure I was ready as well as answer any last minute questions I might have had.

Dr. Cirangle and his staff are wonderful. I was very impressed with his post-op care. I saw him at least 4 times at my 1 day hospital stay.

A very nice man. The initial consult happened on a Saturday evening when his clinic was actually closed. He knew of my buse schedule as a doctor, and was very accomadating in meeting with me. He has an impressive record with more than 500 of these procedures being done. All risks and benefits were discussed as well as all other aspects of care, including post-op follow-up.

Young, capable, enthused.

has remained the same.

Excellent, friendly, CARE about you and will go the extra mile.

I liked the fact he is accessible. Doesn't make you feel like an idiot for asking simple questions. Seems to genuinely have care and concern for you.

Future patients should have a high degree of confidence if they choose him.

After care is started in your first meeting. It is obvious it is the most important part of success.

There are support meetings, phone, email, website. Anything you need for questions or concerns.

The risks are outlined. No question.

I would give him an A+

Surgical competence and bedside manner were equally good.

Dr. Cirangle was great when we first met. He had to have been the best doctor that I had ever met. I weighed almost 400 pounds then and after my surgery, at a follow up appointment about a year later I was in the exam room with my husband. Dr. Ciranglle came in and with the door to the room open, he yelled at me for not loosing enough weight in that years time. everything else was fine the staff and the after care program. it all helped so much.

Dr. Paul Cirangle I think is the best of the best here in Hawaii. He puts you at ease but does not throw any punches when it comes to this surgery. very up front. His staff that works with him are the greatest and take very good care of you. There is nothing to dislike about him. He is the most caring surgeon. His follow ups with the patients are the best every 2 weeks and than once a month. you can alway page him no matter what time he will always return the call. Dr.Cirangle is vey up front about all the risk letting his patients know where its at.From a scale of 0 to 10 he is a 10+ his surgical competence is the best of the best and his bed side mannor is one that should never change. I am very happy with the out come of my surgery and would not change my surgeon at all.

I was very impressed with Dr Cirangle and
was pleased that he didn't find my extensive
research beforehand to be threatening. I
like to be an informed patient and I like a
doctor to keep me in the loop and explain
what is going on and why, and to involve me
in the choices made about my treatment.
I basically knew the answers to all the
usual questions so I told him what I already
knew and let him fill in the blanks. He
especially wanted to make sure that I was
aware of the risks involved and went through
his "standard speech" on the subject even
though I already knew.
I went over my medical and diet history
with him (I had spent part of the preceeding
weekend remembering dates and facts and
writing them down in my Palm to be prepared.
I understand that Dr. Cirangle is new in
private practice and so he is not as busy
as the other two Bariatric surgeons here on
Oahu, which I expect will change as word
gets around so I consider myself fortunate
to have decided to have it done when I did.
The only down side to this is that he doesn't
seem as informed about common insurance
carriers yet as some doctors are, but his
office staff is.
We also discussed an alternative to the
Roux-en-y called (I think) Duodenal Switch
which he has recently qualified to perform.
I am still deciding on which one, though as
I am right on the borderline, indication-wise
with a BMI of 51.
His office staff was very helpful and
courteous.
Overall I would rate him very well.
Perhaps I will have something less glowing
to say with time, but for now I like him a
lot.
Oh, and he said he thought it was very
important that I talk to someone who had a
bad surgical experience, to get a balanced
view.
