Doctor Siegert was wonderful . He was all business though. My first impression of him was he was very professional. And that impression of him never changed. His staff was very kind. I told everyone who asked about him to go to him. Because he was the best in his field in our area. His aftercare was good. He set up my appointment and made sure everything was going right. And he helped me with how things were going ot change after my surgery. He told me of all the risks involved and made sure I understood all of them. His only problem I every saw was his bedside manner. He didn't have one. He would walk into my room and look at the "zipper" then ask how I was then left. Not very hospitable. His best features were his surgery. He was a skilled surgeon, and what he lacked in his bedside manner he fully mad up for in his surgery. I retired in 2005 and will be very missed!!!!

Dr. Siegert is a straight forward kind of guy.
He likes to discuss everything with you at first
and then if you have questions ask them. He
knows his stuff and doesn't lack on making sure
everything is done to his specifications. The
nursing staff/office staff are great they are
wonderful people and always eger to help and
very polite.

As far as the hospital staff, they know what
Dr. Seigert expects they know that he likes
things done a certain way and they are to do
exactally that. As for the Staff in general
there was just a few that I really liked at
the hospital. Some complained to much about
the other nurses but didn't really matter cause
I recoped quickly and was out of there. :)

Dr. Siegert is a very good dr. and would
recommend him. Sometimes his bedside manners
aren't that great but name a dr. that has
florence nighting gals manners.

I am 3wks Post Op I had my Surgery 7/20/01 and
have lost 28lbs. Thus far. -

7/4/05 - Dr. Siegert has retired

My first impression of Dr. Siegert was that he is very professional and very knowledgeable. He is also busy and can come across as being rushed. I was impressed with his competence, he made sure I understood how the surgery is done, the risks and the benefits. His office staff is warm and caring. There were some times that I felt put off by his bedside manner as he is not personable. Aftercare is emphasized by the hospital more than the surgeon. They have a wonderful bariatric support center. Dr. Siegert was very direct about the risks of surgery. Overall I would rate Dr. Siegert as an excellent surgeon and would not have wanted anyone but him do my surgery. Dr. Siegert's strong suit is definitely surgical competence, that was fine with me because I needed to know that I was under the care of a very experienced and dedicated surgeon. I did have to go back to the hospital two weeks after surgery for a blood clot in a superficial vein. I was referred to my family doctor and I had really expected that Dr. Siegert would care for me in the event I had any post op problems. He did consult with my family doctor though. I am doing well and five weeks after surgery am down about 45 pounds.

Dr. Siegert is a surgeon with a very good success record which is why I chose him. He is all business and expects his patients to follow his instructions and advise. The Bariatric Institute at Trinity Hospital is excellent. They thoroughly prepared me for everything I was to experience during my stay at their hospital. There were no surprises, and I believe this made my experience very manageable.

I have been very impressed by Dr. Siegert. I think that he is very knowledgable and professional. His nursing staff was also very helpful and nice. He does tend to be out of the office frequently, but does have other doctors there to cover for him. I think he did a great job of explaining the surgery and it's risks. I think that his surgical competence is probably better than his bedside manner, but that is what I am paying him thousands of dollars for. I have a husband for bedside manner. I would definately recommend Dr. Siegert to anyone.

Dr. Seigert is very professional and straight forward. He informs you on what to expect(pros and cons)He has been doing wls for over 25 years. He has good results!! Sometimes he can be short, but I also understand he is very busy. The office staff is very curtious and helpful.

Today my husband and I went to our initial consultation with Dr. Siegert. We have already been to an informational seminar at his hospital, and an initial evaluation by his nurse practitioner. Those experiences were very pleasant and informative.

My husband weighs just under 500 and I weigh about 370. Dr. Siegert was rude and condescending. He told us we were "trainwrecks" and too much work. He told us to lose 40 pounds or come in 2 months and he'll talk to us then. He talked down to us. The whole apt. that we traveled 1 1/2 hours to get to lasted about 5 minutes. I left in tears, and I have never seen my husband so angry. Maybe it is a risk to work on us right now, but Dr. Siegert could have been encouraging instead of making us feel like we have no hope. My husband has called the officials at the hospital to complain, and they plan to investigate his complaint.

Met with Dr. Seigert on July 17th. This was my second consult. I started my journey with Dr. John Stoner. I met him on June 24th. I found out on July 2nd that he is no longer going to be doing these surgeries. I started over with a referral from Dr. Stoner and my GP doctor to Dr. Seigert. I was lucky to get in when I did. So, on the 17th I met with Dr. Seigert and his staff and they were very friendly and helpful. He seemed a little rushed but they were short a nurse and they had numerous patients. However, he answered all my questions and I am comfortable. I also got alot of questions answered at my first consult with Stoner. Seigert's office was going to process my paperwork with the insurance company the next day. So now I am waiting. Once we receive the approval, he brings the patient back in for further discussion, aftercare, diet and scheduling the pre-op testing.
