I am 1 year out from surgery and have finished with my doc visits. Doc Halversen was very competent and easy to get along with. He is very strict about the diet and exercise though. His feeling about the surgery was that it is only a part of the program, I have to do the rest. He said it would take willpower and determination to get to my goal weight. Anytime I had a question after surgery and needed to call the office, he and his office personnel were very quick to call me back and answer my questions or make an appt for me. If I had to do it over again, I would pick Doc Halversen in St Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Halverson was great when I first meet him he seemed like a really fun live guy who was happy with his work and shows it. Good since of hummor. His staff were great with me when I would call and ask questions even though I may have drove them nuts with all the questions before the surgery. After my surgery he came into visit and check up on me always got me to smile and laugh he is great and would recomend him to anyone who is looking into this surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Halverson was very favorable, when I first met him he was very informative but at the same time made you feel comfortable. He always has a smile on his face and is ready to help make you smile whether it be a hug or just a kind word. Every time I see him my attitude about him just keeps getting better. He is very committed to aftercare whether he is seeing you personally or if you are attending one of the support group meetings. He is very committed to his patients and only wants them to succeed in their goals. Dr. Halverson will be the first to tell you about the risks of having surgery yet calms any fears you might have at the same time. He is one of the best doctors I have, and will likely remain so...

So far I only met him at the seminar, but he seemed very knowledgable and helpful. I will update more after things get going.

He is very professional, knowledgeable, caring and supportive. His staff is also wonderful. He and his staff have a comprehensive aftercare program and they are always available when I have questions or concerns. His bedside manner was delightful. He has a great sense of humor and a calm demeanor.

First impression was very good. He was confident and relaxed, his body language was like one who had all day to answer questions . I never felt that I needed to apologize for taking his time. Of course he didnt have all day but he was very there for me.
I didnt change my opinion of him at all since I felt good about him from get go and continued to throughout.
When at the hospital and office his staff was awesome warm and kind. On the phone before getting the insurance clearance they were not so good at all and if I would of had other immediate choices elsewhere I would of gone elsewhere. Turned out happy I didnt though. Least liked about him I really cant think of anything that was unlikable at all. Seems to have a structured after care though I think you must be self motivated to get it done if you are then it is available.
Dr. Halverson was straight forward about the surgery but not long on negative aspects just let me know they were possibe to arise.
Future patients to know about him, he is funny and pretty kick back and yet he is quite professional at his work. Try not to judge him or the hospital by his phone staff if you should feel they are not pleasant. I rack it up as they are busy with many calls. ( though they are I dont see how it takes longer to be kind and useful but none the less they were what they were but they are not reflective of the doctors abilities). I rate him as a ten as I have not one complaint. surgical competence is most important to me but yes both would be great and were great. All of these comments were based on my personal experience and not suggestive of what others may experience.

I liked Dr Halversen very much. He is an upbeat man who likes to joke. He has taken care of my needs as they have come along with no troubles.

His office and staff are also very nice, no complications.

There is nothing I could say that I don't like about doc Halversen.

He is wonderful about emphasizing with his patients. He feels the same as me that it is better to be safe than sorry when experiencing problems and encourages me to call him if I have any trouble.

He does have a structured aftercare. The hospital has group meetings once a month and also you still see doc Halverson at regular intervauls throughout your recovery.

Doc Halversen has addressed every question I have ever asked him and also before hand addressed the risks of surgery through an oreintation to prepare the patient for the complications -- should they arise.

I love doc Halverson and have not regretted choosing him as my doc for this surgery.

Both surgical competence -- which doc Halverson has preformed several surgeries and bedside manner is very important to me. Doc Halverson has them BOTH.

I have nothing negative to say about doc Halverson as he is one of the best docs I have ever had the pleasure to work with in my life. I wouldn't have choosen another doc for this procedure.

Dr R. Chad Halversen puts you at ease from the minute you meet him. He has a great sense of humor and is very personable. He has done well over 2,000 RNY surgeries. He is very skilled and knowledgeable. He addresses the risks and benefits. He let's you know that this surgery is just a tool not a solution. You still have to do the work and make good food choices and exercise.

I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of having this surgery. On a scale from 1-10 he is at least a 12 in my book.

My first impression of Dr. Halversen was wonderful. He is very personable and seems to care deeply about the problems obese people face.

His staff was extremely helpful and friendly, they made me feel very comfortable.

Dr. Halversen is very pro aftercare. The clinic has an excellent aftercare program for 1 year post op which I think is wonderful.

Will update more after surgery! MARCH 10TH!!!
