Ramzi Alami Bariatric Surgeon

I met my surgeon the other day and he was very friendly and encouraging. I felt very comfortable about my choice for WLS and I believe he supported my decision as well. I want to have the VSG.

Kaiser So. Sanfrancisco Bariatric Dept. has been wonderful. My overall experience has been great. I am very ready for this and with their help I believe I can accomplish many things with my WLS and reach the goals I have set for myself.

What was your first impression of him/her?

OMG He's gorgeous ! Then he opened his mouth to talk and OMG he's brilliant.

How did your impression change over time?

The more you talk to Dr. Alami, the more intelligent, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable about the surgery and safe/secure you feel with him.

How would you describe his/her office staff?

Awesome. Everyone there is amazing.

What did you like least about him/her?

NOTHING. He saw me an hour and thirty minutes before my scheduled appointment because I arrived early. He then spent an hour and fifteen minutes with me during our meeting. He was informative, calm, happy, relaxing (because I was really excited/nervous).

What should future patients know about him/her?

Be prepared to sit in the presence of a great man, knowledgeable and truly brilliant surgeon.

How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?

He was emphatic that you take the time from work so that you can be comfortable - not because he doesn't think you can handle it but because he understands the changes and wants to make certain that you take your time instead of rushing things.

Does he/she have a structured aftercare program?

Yes. Appointments already scheduled.

How did he/she address the risks of surgery?

Yes.

My First impression of Dr. Alami was good, He seemed very knowledgeable about the different types of surgery. Dr. Alami had a clear idea of the type of surgery he would perform on me. Due to my medical history and current health problems Dr. Alami explained to me that the best surgery for me was the RNY. I completely agreed with him.

So far the office staff seems to be nice and generally concerned about your health and wellbeing before and after surgery.

I will comment more about my experiences with Dr. Alami as I meet with him and the office staff.

Dr. Ramzi Alami is absolutely an angel. He is ernest and kind. He truly cares about his patients. I would recommend Dr. Alami to anyone. He is an excellent surgeon! And his bedside manner is beyond any physician I have ever met.

Overall I would rate Dr. Alami as the very best bariatric surgeon alive.

My first impression of Dr. Alami was that he was a nice looking, clean cut,highly professional doctor. Over time my first impression did not change, he has maintained very high standards, and as my wife said, he looks good doing it. His office staff was fantastic. I would like to specifically note that NP Kirk John Phlipps worked with me, motivated me, picked me up when I was down, and made my surgery possible. Without him I would have given up long ago. Thank you John Kirk Phillip. Furture patients should know that you get the best when you get Dr. Alami. He checked on me first thing in the morning each morning, no waiting around for the doctor to come. His work is remarkable, I have little scars, and he had to get throught a massive belly to get to my stomach. He gave me a letter that had complete aftercare procedures, with specific instructions. I would rate Dr. Alami, and the SSF staff at the top of the line. I tried Richmond Kaiser first, and it was a great letdown. My SSF Kaiser experience was great all the way around. Great staff, great doctor, great results, everything was Greaaaaat! Your instructions say that 100% positive reviews are less informative or suspect. Sorry if you have a problem with my comments. I didn't know these people before I came there, and knew nothing about any of them. I saw what I saw, and know what I know. I was helped, motivated, and treated good. Nothing bad to say. Oh, On second thought, one day I could not find a parking space and had to wait about 5 minutes for one to open up.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Alami. He made me feel very comfortable with my choice of surgeons.

From the very start Dr. Alami was professional, polite, & informative. I found him to be very personable which made me feel at ease with the whole process.

I am well on my way to my goal wait being just less than 4 weeks after surgery. Everything is progressing fine thanks to Dr. Alami. I feel great!

I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a highly skilled and personable surgeon.
