Richard Fromm Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

The staff at the Gastric Band Institute are wonderful. 99% of the time when I call a real person answers the phone and all messages and emails are responded to on the same day. Dr Fromm spent a generous amount of time going over my questions and giving me details. The after care program is most impressive. I can't wait to get to that point!

Dr. Fromm is an excellent surgeon. I knew from the first seminar on the surgery that he was the one I wanted to do mine. He has a great bedside manner. His office staff is great. They are alway willing to help with any need. Dr. Fromm and his nurse stressed the aftercare and all the risks. In fact his nurse has had the surgery, she looks great. They have a support group for surgeries under 6 months and another that is more than 6 months, those are once a month. They also have a nutrition class every week. Sometimes they have speakers come in as well. They had a "walk for obesity" last year too. I highly recommend his office and any of the doctors that are in with him. Dr Fromm was very professional and seemed to care alot about me.. Right after my surgery Dr Fromm and Dr Ponce were there to make sure i was ok...

Dr. Ponce was very impressive... His office staff was also very nice and would answer any questions you have or had.. Dr. Ponce emphasizes aftercare and has programs located in alot of places so you do not have to drive or fly back to him . He did tell you about the risks involved but compared to the risks of not doing it was so much higher.. I liked that he would talk to you and answer anything you asked.... even about his background... I would rate him a 10 on first impressions.... tell you more about bedside manners after surgery. I would recommend Dr. Ponce and his staff to anyone....After meeting with Dr. Ponce I was not able to get a date with him so I took the first available with Dr. Fromm.
He is also very wonderful. I met with him and he answered the rest of my questions that I needed. I would recommend him or really anyone in this office.

He is very pleasant and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable. The office staff is ok, Bev the nurse is great. The group really stresses aftercare and they were involved in the LapBand clinical trials. There is written and video info to address risks of surgery as well as the doc talking to you.
