Dr Gornichec was my dr in Oklahoma, the ONLY reason I chose Dr Gornichec is because at his seminar he said he Plicates his bands. My band operation was a complete success and I lost 135 lbs and kept it off for 2 years. Then unfortunately I got a prolapse in my band and found out my band was NEVER plicated and there was no way to fix it. I had to pay to have it removed which in turn triggered my PTSD and within a year I put all of my weight back on. I am $25k in debt and miserable. He ruined me!

I cannot believe the comments about Dr. Gornichec. He must have changed since all of you used him. He has had many malpractice suits filed. He got booted from OK & now from AR. He is horrible & I hope the next state he runs to checks him out thoroughly or else they will have patients die in his care also. I was his patient & am still fighting for my life cause of that man.

Dr. Gornichec and his staff have done everything to help me prepare for surgery and encouraged me along the way. Dr. Gornichec is kind and honest, if he thinks you aren't serious or ready he will tell you. His staff is compassionate, patient and know what they are doing. They go the extra mile, one nurse even called me after office hours to answer a question I had asked a few hours before.

My surgery went well and my recovery is going well. Dr. Gornichec has done over 1,000 weight loss surgeries and I have every confidence in him. He answered all my questions before surgery and explained the risks as well as benefits so I knew what I was getting into. I've recommended him to two friends who are considering bariatric surgery.

Dr. Gornichec's staff is amazing. It was an 11 month journey from seminar to surgery due to my insurance's requirements. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, kind and considerate. I had my surgery at Integris Baptist Hospital. Most RNs were great in the care that they provided. Being an RN myself I know what to expect in basic care.
Dr. Gornichec answered all questions with professionalism and a caring demeanor. I would highly recommend Dr. Gornichec for any weight loss surgery.

I first met Dr Gornichec at his seminar, along with the rest of his staff. My first impression of Dr. Gornichec is that he isnt trying to \"sell\" me something. He described in detail each procedure he did and what the pros and cons for each type of surgery. He's a great devil's advocate. His seminar was VERY thorough....3 1/2 hrs! His staff has been excellent working with my insurance company and keeping me informed all the way. I have yet to make my appointment with the Dr., but will keep you posted!

Dr. Gornichec was/is very informative, thorough, professional and personable, even with his bedside manner. He answered all of my pre-op questions patiently. It was hard to know what questions to ask, but I feel we both muddled through. At times Dr. G. referred me to his staff and even suggested I attend the seminar again when I asked some questions. I have not been to our first post-op appointment but everything so far has gone smoothly. His staff are professional. Be sure to get involved in your decision process--don't just accept everything that is told you--sometimes it's not enough. The coordinators and nutritionists with Baptist Hospital were very helpful and follow-upped with me following surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Gornichec was that he was inflexible. The decision to have surgery was mine; the decision on whether or not the surgery would happen was his. It was clear and I liked that. He made it clear that if I did not meet all of the pre-surgery requirements that he would cancel the surgery. If you're looking for warm fuzzies and hand holding, he is not the surgeon for you. If you're looking for a competent physician with, according to my research, one of the lowest post surgery infection rates. The Dr. Gornichec is an excellent choice. rnDr. Gornichec's staff is amazing. Most of my pre and post surgery contact was with Sarah Kitchen, the Bariatric Program Coordinator, and Tiffany Bozarth, Bariatric Dietician. They responded immediately to my emails and calls, and are very warm and caring. They are both excellent and knowledgable professionals.rnThe one thing which I believe will really contribute to my long term success is the Integris Bariatric Support group and meetings. They meet twice a month, and I believe participation is critical to long-term success.rnDr. Gornichec made it clear that the surgery was a tool, and only the first step in accomplishing my long-term health goals. He emphasizes exercise, the support group, and long-term office follow ups. I always felt that the only thing he really cared about was seeing me successful long-term. If I had it to do over again, I would absolutely have the procedure, and he would be my doctor.

My first impression of Dr. G was why would this gorgeous hunk want to be in a field where he had patients that are large, but once he started talking to you about the risks that you might have or do have that could change your life you understood how much he really cares about the problems of obesity. rnrnMy impression to this day remains the same.rnrnHis office staff are all wonderful and professional, they are very helpful and have always been there to answer any questions or problems no matter how big or small.rnrnThe thing I like least about him - well it's not that I don't like it but he is so straight forward and tells it like it is.rnrnIf your a future patient looking into bariatric surgery I strongly suggest you check out Dr. G. He is very professional, caring, thorough and to the point. rnrnHe stresses strongly you follow the guidelines of your aftercare. You have a binder that will guide you in every step.rnrnThere is a structured support group for the aftercare. There are different topic at each meeting. It meets twice a month and it's very informative and helpful. rnrnWhen he addressed the risk of surgery he was very thorough, he explained all the different risks and what the consequences could be.rnrnMy overall rating on him - He is the best in my personal experience.rnrnHis surgical competence and bedside manner are absolutely professional.

Dr. Gornichec is a wonderful surgeon. He is thoughtful and caring. He is extremely knowledgeable and will patiently answer any questions that his patients have. I took a list of over 100 questions when I first met him and he very patiently answered each and every one of them. With Dr. Gornichec, there are no silly questions. I highly recommend him. I am at goal and doing well.
