Shahzeer Karmali Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr Karmali performed my Roux en Y laproscopic gastric bypass in early 2011. I found him very helpful in answering my questions and presenting my options. He is fairly patient but doesn't go beyond answering the questions - he is focused. Its not a problem, but just to be aware. Soft spoken, but exudes confidence and inspires it in the patient. Absolutely no concerns with him performing my surgery. He did drop by the next day for a brief visit (2-3 minutes) to tell me things went well. I had a choice of the 3 main procedures (band, sleeve, bypass) and it was my choice. Highly recommended if you make it through the Weight Wise program at the Royal Alex. Hospital.

Dr. Karmali is very quiet & reserved. He is very patient in explaing your options and how they will affect you. His office staff was very helpful as well. He is part of the Weight Wize clinic who supports their patients before and after surgery. I was with the clinic for 3 years prior to surgery and I am over a year after surgery and am still part of the clinic.

Dr Karmali is a surgeon that I would recommend to anyone! He is a very professional and knowledgable surgeon and has a great bedside manor. I have had some complications, none of which I blame on anyone, and Dr Karmali is doing his best to help figure things out and fix them as soon as possible.
I would definately definately suggest anyone looking to get bariatric surgery to see dr Karmali
