Typically I'm not one to utilize social media for any reason but I had such a wonderful experience that I just have to shout it out. I began my weight loss journey with another provider. From the start I was very unhappy. Quite frankly I just did not get a good vibe from the beginning but I went on a referral from my primary. The front office was unfriendly and unprofessional. The doctor was argumentative. Unfortunate for them they lost their qualification for the IOQ and lucky for me I had to switch to Dr. Heider's office. From the beginning I knew I was in good hands. From the initial seminar to appointments with the nutritionist and Dr. Heider the entire experience just felt "different"; they were inviting, professional, and reassuring that I was now in good hands. My surgery came quick, I was nervous but they made me feel at ease. It was like a well oiled machine. As an end result, I'm about 3 months out from my surgery and I feel great! I'm down 33 lbs and my BMI is down 7 points. If I had to do it all again (and I'm sure I won't have to) I'd call Dr. Heider's office in a heartbeat. Good luck to anyone who is planning to go through WLS but one thing is for sure, I can assure you that with Dr. T. Ryan Heiders office you'll definitely be in good hands.

I was so skeptical about working with any dr. , my insurance did not pay for my surgery so I had to find somewhere with a reasonable price to do my surgery at and I have called Dr. Heider office, found that the price was affordable (13000 comparing to other pracitce for 28000). Dr. Heider knows what he is doing BUT is not a friendly doctor , he does not talk much but he is really good.. I prefer a dr who knows the job rather than a nice funny dr. . I got sleeved on August 1st, 2016. Every thing went perfect, no complications at all. Dr. Heider has magic hands on incisions, they were very very small and healed fast .. I barley see them now. He sew over the sleeve for extra security. I asked for no drain because i was so scared from the pain of removing it and he did not put it .. so everything went well and I highly recommend him. His Nutritionist Amanda is very patient and nice person.

Hands Down, Dr. Heider is one of the BEST surgeons available. He really cares about his patients, and does an awesome job. Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is a top notch hospital that is super clean, state of the art, and with a staff that not only is caring and attentive, but also friendly and actually seem like they Love their job. Many Hospitals across this nation can learn a lot from LNRMC. Dr. Heider is the Icing on the cake. What a great doctor and friend. I have no regrets whatsoever and will recommend Dr Heider, and LNRMC to anyone!

I have severe painful GERD, painful IBS, and yellow stools since surgery. I was sleeved Jun 12th. At this time I regret having the surgery done. I also did not like that I was not given pain med unless I asked post surg which is a bad idea. My BP went to 200/110 from the pain. I had to tell them I needed BP med. They had not checked my BP in several hours. Then they tried to just give pain meds. Only time in my life my Bp has been over 160. Normally 125ish over 80 with BP med

I could not have asked for a better experience! Dr. Heider always gave me time I needed to ask questions and receive satisfactory answers. He never rushed me through my follow up appointments.

Dr. Heider also performed my cosmetic surgery to remove the fat around my belly. I can't say it wasn't a painful recover but the surgery went well and I received the same excellent care in all phases of the procedure.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Heider, his staff, and the wonderful people at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. I have never felt like I was in more competent hands and have been cared for so well. I am 5 days post-op from my VSG (and HH repair-I didn't even know I needed that!) and am doing fantastic. Everyone I came in contact with was clearly an expert in their field. There were signs everywhere congratulating Dr. Heider on his 1000th surgery. I am so happy that I found his practice and made the 7 hour drive to Mooresville. It was completely worth it. Dr. Heider put together a self-pay package that is one of the lowest in the country, but without sacrificing a bit of quality. He has a Bariatric Center of Excellence, an enormous amount of experience, an excellent complication rate. I received honest, and consistant answers from everyone I asked. He provides a complication insurance from a company called BLIS, and they also assured me that they wouldn't even work with him if he wasn't excellent. He performed this same surgery on 3 of his own staff, 1 of the staff that helped me during my upper GI, and 1 of the nurses in pre-op. How can you get a better recommendation than that? The practice made the long distance so easy for me with several phone appointments and then a day of preop tests the day before the surgery. I spent one night in a private hospital room on a designated unit-BEST CARE I HAVE EVERY GOTTEN!!!! I cannot wait to go back next month for my follow up!

Dr. Heider is great. Surgery went great, he and his staff are all very honest and walked me through every detail. I had no complications at all. My incisions healed up very fast. I couldn't have asked for better care. Highly recommend Dr. Heider!

Walking into Dr. Heider’s office for the first time, I noticed the waiting room is inviting and comfortable, with oversized chairs and a calming water feature. During the seminar, I learned the basics about the surgeries, nutrition, and insurance. Dr. Heider thoroughly discussed the risks and benefits of surgery at both the seminar and in my pre-op appointments. Talking to him about my weight and medical history was surprisingly easy. He was nonjudgmental and respectful. We discussed the multitude of diets I had tried and the reasons why I wanted surgery, as well as the risks/benefits therein. I then set up the appointments I would need prior to surgery, which were scheduled together to accommodate my work schedule. I left anticipating success and feeling confident in my decision. Initially, I wanted lap-band. After my endoscopy, Dr. Heider informed me that I wasn’t the best candidate for that surgery. We discussed the other surgeries and, together, decided that the sleeve would be the best choice for me. From there, everything came together rapidly, mainly due to Dr. Heider’s amazing staff! Bobbie gathered everything needed for insurance approval. Amanda educated me about nutrition, helping me build on my strengths and work on my weaknesses. Marsha made the psychological relaxing and easy! Michelle answered all my questions and was my personal cheerleader. Jessica shared my successes and welcomed me to each visit with an infectious smile! Dr. Heider and his staff emphasized aftercare and the significant commitment required to be successful at every pre-op appointment. They are on top of problems when they arise too. I had a potentially major issue six days before surgery. Dr. Heider immediately conferred with the anesthesiologist and had Michelle set up an appointment with a specialist the next day (not an easy task!) and my surgery was able to go forward as scheduled on 8/12/13 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. It was also terrific and I got excellent care there! I have had no complications post-operatively and feel terrific! Not only would I highly recommend Dr. Heider to my family and friends; I already have! He has it all…great surgical skill, a comprehensive pre and post-op program, and a true dedication to his patients!

Dr. Heider is a Godsend! My insurance doesn't cover bariatric surgery and the self-pay price at a center in Concord was $40k! Thanks to Dr. Heider and his completely reasonable self-pay pricing, I have my life back. I wasted much of my 20's and 30's losing and gaining weight, not to mention the money I spent, I ultimately reached the point where I couldn't turn it around and get my weight under control. I was completely miserable but thanks to Dr. Heider, I am living again! His office is state of the art and professional, he has great credentials and experience in bariatric surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Heider was that of a caring, compassionate doctor. He genuinely cares about his patients and offers support before and after surgery. Before surgery during the initial consultation he discussed the surgery options as well as the risks of each one. He helped me decide what surgery was right for me and explained the risks and possible complications of that surgery. After surgery he continues to follow his patients closely. The only negative appointment I have had was a day when it was sleeting and we both were probably a bit distracted by the bad weather. His staff is wonderful and are great cheerleaders! Most of them have had the surgery as well so they understand what each patient is experiencing. Overall I have had a wonderful experience as a patient of Dr. Heider and will recommend him to anyone contemplating bariatric surgery.
