I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Borland and his staff. Surgery was pain-free and I had no complications. Dr. Borland is easy to talk to and has an awesome bedside manner. The staff of New Iberia Surgery Center were caring and made my time there easy and hassle free! The nurses are top notch! Overall I had a great experience using Dr. Borland and I am thankful I found him!! Thank you Dr. Borland!!

Several friends used Dr. Borland and highly recommended him and I was not disappointed. My VSG surgery was very successful. A little discomfort but not painful, no pain medication needed. His staff is extremely helpful as well as the surgical center staff. My nurses were amazing and very attentive. I stayed at the Candlewood Suites and was very pleased. I would highly recommend doctor Borland.

Truly awesome doctor. I went to see him and received a surgery date 2 wks later. From the time of my 1st visit to my sleeve date the entire process took less than a month. I made sure to get all my pre op test done asap. It was a cash pay surgery $9800. I can't believe that I have no pain and its only my 3rd post op day. He's very personal, he gave me his beeper#, home # etc. I beeped him with a question and he called me in less than 10mins. The guy is truly one of the best doctors i've ever been to and i'm a nurse so we don't take to doctors well. He also gave me a cd of my surgery. You don't get all the run around like a lots of these big obesity type clinics give you. He has a very small staff and they are so sweet and nice especially Marium. My surgery was done out patient but we had to stay in the area. We spent the 1st nite in the days inn we left because it was so stinky in there. We spent the 2nd day at Candlewood suites which was a newer and nice motel however they put us under a woman who had a special needs child who was beating on the floor, walls, moving furn etc. We complained but nothing was done. I was able to go home on 3rd day..today

Dr Borland is a very accomplished weight loss doctor. He has been doing wls for over 30 years. I always felt very comfortable with him from the first time I met him. He answered every question I had. Took his time with me on every visit, pre and post.
I would highly recomend him to anyone wanting weight loss surgery. If you have any questions and would like my input please feel free to contact me.
I had my surgery Aug 3, 2010. I am down 84lbs. I look great and feel great. It was the best thing I have ever done and would do it again the same way with the same Dr. :-)

My first impression of Dr.Borland was very nice and he seemed concerned for my well being. He came to visit me twice at the home of a family members house I was staying after the surgery. I thought his office was nice, like any other. At first his staff seemed a little rude, but after talking and asking questions things changed alot and they were all helpful and nice. Anyone researching to have the sleeve should consider Dr Borland. He does give you lots of information regarding prior and aftercare of the surgery. I would rate him a 10 out of 10!

I have been very impressed with Dr Borland from day one. He has a very good way of communicating which puts you right at ease. He schedules the consultations as the last appointment of the day so that you can spend as much time as you want and ask as many questions as you like. He does the VSG as an outpatient procedure because he feels that like other surgeries that have been moved to outpatient, you reduce the risk of blood clots when you do this. After having my surgery as an outpatient I think it is just how it should be. I had discomfort but no real pain so i don't think a hospital stay was necessary. He does require that you stay local for 2 nights so that he can check on you. Dr Borland made 3 House calls to me, imagine a Dr today that does house calls! Overall I would rate him very high in both his surgical competence and his bedside manner.
