Dr. Cerabona is a very nice man and quick to put me at ease. I was originally scheduled with another surgeon in the practice who had emergency back surgery and my surgery scheduled for 12/5/11 was in jeopardy. Dr. Maffei (another doctor at the practice) took over my case in a heart beat and even squeezed me in to meet with him two days prior to my surgery. In the staging area Dr. Cerabona came in and spoke with me and answered my last minutes questions. The day of my surgery he worked back to back on surgeries with Dr. Maffei until mine was complete around 9:30 at night. After my surgery both doctors went into the waiting room and sat and talked with my family for about 10 minutes answering their questions and reassuring them that all was well. Great team of doctors!
Dr. Cerabona is a very kind and friendly man. He is very informative. Makes you feel comfortable right away. Generally concerned about your needs and plan for this very serious surgery.rnI knew of him through work. I am a Nurse and have cared for his patients in the past.rnHis office staff is very helpful and informative. You must have patience with them at times they are very busy.rnI can only complain about the care at the hospital. I missed seeing him after surgery and I was not crazy about the residents taking care of me. I also felt the NSG staff was not attentive. Other than that I have minimal to complain about.rnI see him every few months. I have not been good about going to post op visits, \"life gets in the way\" and i live over an hour away , so it is hard to plan the visit.rnI would do it again.
The first time I met Dr.Cerabona was at a seminar about 4 years ago and I just thought he was so down to earth. He made you feel normal and that there was nothing to be ashamed of and that in doing WLS was nothing but a great tool to use to getting healthy. So I went ahead and did all the pre-op tests and was ready to go and 2 months before I was planning on surgery I found out I was Preggers. Well again now that my baby was now 2 it was time to do this thing for real. And I finally did it and I must say Dr.Thomas Cerabona is a true ROCK STAR and man did he ROCK my surgery! Thank you so much Dr. Cerabona. I must say I went into that OR totally cool and calm. I was beaming with happiness and just couldn't wait to begin my new and improved life and I have Dr. Cerabona to thank for that! He is truly an amazing doctor and person! I must also say his team was extremely amazing as well!!! THANK YOU!!!
I was recently banded and can't recommend this surgeon and practice highly enough. Cerabona is kind and terrific, and his staff is the same: Remember--it's not just the surgeon, but the nutritionists, RNs, insurance folks, etc. that you're working with. I shopped around and was stunned by the lack of pre-op testing and information from a lot of bariatric practitioners. Cerabona's office is so nice, and they have a group seminar where they go through EVERYTHING you need to/ever wanted to know about prepping for your surgery and what you need to do post-op to be successful. they have a great post-op support group as well as nutritionists for follow up. rnrnWestchester County Medical Center is also a great place to have your surgery--everything was efficient (no crazy waits) and modern in the aftercare.
