I was very pleased with Dr. Lavin. He has great bedside manor and made me feel very comfortable. His practice is booming. THe only reason I didn't give perfect score is because I have "issues" with one of the office staff. Not accommodating, sarcastic, just a witch! I almost looked for a different surgeon. THank God I didn't!!

Dr. Lavin was very friendly and professional. He fully explained my procedure to me. Surgery was at Crescent City Surgical. The surgical center was very nice and I was well taken care of.

My first impression of Dr. Lavin was he exudes confidence, he knows about WLS and explained the bypass procedure in great detail as if I knew nothing about it. I loved it! He looked directly at me and explained everything from how often and how many surgeries he's performed, to usual complications...which are none, then asking if I had questions. He has a great doctor-patient rapport. Even his office staff says that his professionalism and kindness with his patients is the same professionalism he displays with his staff.

I walked away confident in his skill. I am a nurse and must say that I was truly impressed and confident that he will do a great job!

My first impression was Wow! he is really nice!. He is very confident, but not arrogant - Most surgeons I have met are not very nice to be around. This one made me feel very comfortable and I cant wait til Surgery on April 20th.

My first impression showed to me his experience in doing these surgeries. He is so confident because of his many years experience in bariatric surgery. This office staff has truly been amazing! Answering my phone calls, getting back with me ASAP! Beth is the person there who I am to talk to about everything and she has been a God send with me! I love her!! rnrnAs for Dr. Lavin, he is a very nice person....very very willing to answer all questions.....and is a Bariatric Of Excellence certified! rnI am registered to go to the nutrition class and have just gotten a date for my surgery......so I will be updating this information soon!

At first, I found Dr. Lavin to be a bit stand-offish and condescending. However, after meeting with him a second time, he seemed to warm up and was very friendly and encouraging. He is extremely knowledgeable and gave me plenty of time to ask questions and discuss my concerns. I feel I am in competent hands.

His office staff are very efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, and have, for the most part, gone out of their way to make this as easy for me as possible. They couldn't be nicer.

I met my surgeon for the first time on the 15th. I was really excited and wanted to tell him all about my process. Of course I didn't b/c I didnt want to bore him to death. I bet he has heard it all. He stated he has completed over 1000 surgeries and I even found on the internet where he performed a surgery at a conference for surgerons. I have a lot of faith the Lord will guide him correctly. The office staff has been very nice. My favorites have been Beth the Patient/Insurance Coordinator, who kept me encouraged and in the loop, and Patsy the surgery Coordinator, whose enthusiasm was breath taking. I will write more on the aftercare program. Overall right now I would rate him a 10, but again he is all I know and I dont know about anyone else's experiences. Right now he is a God send. O yeah, due to my insurance he is the closest one to me that my insurace covers, so really they chose for me. I trust them...I trust the Lord.
